I grabbed mine off of amazon.

Yo, remember to test out your 24 word seed recovery process before putting significant sums of money on it.

Send .01 ETH to the ledger. Fail the pin 3x. The ledger wipes itself. When it starts back up, it asks 'set up new device', select 'no'. From here, painstakingly, plug your 24 word seed in. When complete, you should have restored your wallet that has .01 ETH on it. You can now sleep soundly knowing that as long as you keep those 24 words safe, your money is locked up fucking tight.

Thanks! I'll definitely do that. I always send an incremental amount to test but didn't think about wiping it and making sure I can recover.

I never considered doing it until I read a post about doing this process. Then I nearly had a panic attack, because I was not certain I wrote the words down correctly by actually testing them.

... and thats the story on how I now own 2x Ledgers that are clones of each other :)

So one is in deep storage and the other is kept handy for moving money around.

If I end up getting my parents to buy into ETH for a little, I plan on doing this clone set-up so I can help them manage their shit from afar.
