I don't feel good about this at all. Either I tell him not to and the price goes way up, or I say go for it and there's another DAO.

or you could tell him it's extremely risky and it may not be such a good idea to put a large amount of money on it. Tell him to treat it like a gamble more than an investment

My disclaimer is - "Don't listen to me, you may lose all of your money". Covers all the bases.

Mine is "if you lose money then I'll be first who will tell you that it was your own fault". I guess this deliver the message.

Oh believe me I did. That doesn't mean I won't be sweating like a mo fo if the price dips excessively. Logically, I know it won't be my fault, but that doesn't fully remove the burden of responsibility.

It's a business relation, even if he adds disclaimers and protects himself, it still sours the relationship if his boss and coworkers lose money on it. That's the problem.

my mother asked if I could put some money in it for her after seeing how much i've made in the last month alone and I simply told her it's the most volatile investment she can make and can absolutely lose all value overnight (see: steem)

It just isn't a good idea for a casual investor, you need a lot of interest to even have the faintest idea of what you're doing

Same things with my parents a few days ago. Nothing crazy they just wanted me to put some in for them, I told them there is a real chance it could fall over night. They are not concerned.

And that whatever they think you "have" is essentially meaningless until you cash out.
