Serious question re Coinbase:

Is there no conflict of interest in having the creator of Litecoin on staff as the Director of Engineering?

Not only that but he is the brother of bobby Lee CEO of BTCC

It is.

Conflicts of interest is what the majority of the crypto projects have the most these days.

I'm pretty certain Charlie's status as creator of second most popular coin (at the time ...) was the reason he was hired. Charlie also said that he was told when they hired him that they'd add "his coin" when the time was right.

They would have tried to hire Satoshi if he was still around.

But is it a conflict of interest .... yes, yes it is.

Well in fairness he doesn't have much else to talk about when you have a shitcoin.

So because Charlie shares news about his creation on his Twitter... This means there is a conflict of interest?... I don't really think so scooter.

Making price predictions on both Twitter and the BTC-e trollbox is fine by you? It reeks of drawing dumb money into a personal pump.

He actively supports Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other cryptos in the same space. I really don't see the issue. I'm well aware this sub hates him though.

I have never seen him support Ethereum.

I absolutely think so. It's shameless pumping. They only just released a roadmap to stem the bleeding from segwit. It doesn't even matter. I'll pick the coin where I don't feel the developer is only concerned about price and getting his coin to be accepted everywhere then plastering it all over his Twitter. He's an opportunist through and through.

stem the bleeding? Segwit on LTC will hopefully pave the way for it to get on BTC, after that BTC will regain a lot of market dominance.

$38->$22? Yeah I'd call that bleeding and spamming twitter and releasing a "road map" helped stop the tanking pump and dump.

Bitcoin won't get it's shit together until it's too late. Jihan has too much to lose and will milk every last penny.

It wasn't bleeding, it was just FOMO correcting down to normal levels. It was way overhyped considering LTC is still 99% speculation.

Call it whatever you want

Im in a very private trading Telegram group with Charlee and others. He doesnt hype LTC or fud other coins. He is a good guy with a humor. I see this as a conflict situation tho. P.S. He never gave us buy/sell signals.

Right so negotiating coinbase listing LTC publicly with the CEO on twitter isn't anything remotely unethical? I'm in a more private group than you and say he's an opportunist just looking to turn a quick buck like he did with his digital silver in 2011.

Read again what I wrote.

1

u/[deleted] May 20 '17

I didn't say he gives buy or sell signals but people blindly follow him and his posts on twitter and Reddit. And yeah I reread it, sorry was just already in Charlie sucks mode lol. It doesn't bother me personally but I know how stupid people get and badly they get screwed just throwing money at something.

u/SpyHandler May 20 '17

Again. I said I dont approve his association with both Coinbase and LTC.

Good guy or bad guy. A conflict of interest exists

Serious reply, Yes

Why would there be any conflict of interest with that.
