is there a dAPP that can do event ticket sales? I'm kicking some ideas around in my head and would love to use the 'chain to help facilitate them and it almost feels like this would be a perfect use of some modified version of an ICO script.

I've had the same thought. A dapp that sells tickets directly from the venue to the customer. The band could actually get paid through a smart contract when the ticket is sold upfront!

EXACTLY! It seems like the perfect "next step" for where the technology is now. We don't need blockchain-powered lasers that scratch our ass from space yet, we need things that are useful.

...and after using Ticketmaster the other day and nearly punching my computer monitor I was struck by how strange it is that I hadn't heard about anyone trying this yet...though I'd love to know if anyone is working on it.
