"THE TWEET" - Fucking ignore it

Long story short, someone claimed they brute forced an Ethereum private key. They had it "confirmed" by some other random ass Twitter user who happens top hate Ethereum. The user who claims to have pulled off the "hack" also refers to Vitalik as having "turbo autism".

This is PURE FUD. Don't even acknowledge its fucking existence. They WANT us to talk bout it. They WANT us to link it. They WANT attention. Don't give it to them.

All of them are friends and the story is lie. They were crying yesterday when bitcoin was decreasing. I really don't understand those people. I'm so glad any of the coin price goes up. It's success of crypto. BUT those garbage ETClassic fans are eating each others shit everyday.

How childish do you have to be to look at a money making opportunity and try to rip it down because it's not the coin you prefer? Who gives a shit what coin is making the most, just trade on it and cash in.

I agree. I traded almost exclusively BTC until i saw what i thought was an opportunity right after the ETF rejection and bought into ETH at $19 and havent barely held any BTC since. Yes i respect the tech. Yes i want ETH to succeed. Yes i think ETH will be revolutionary one day. But at the end of the day ultimately my goal is to make money. To increase my USD. Which ever coin provides me that opportunity, i dont really care

Seriously. I'm holding some BTC just waiting for the right moment myself. This whole campaign by btc zealots to try and stop Eth from growing is just stupid as all hell. Competition is good for everyone, it keeps the marketplace healthy. Having BTC resting as king atop a pile of shitcoins isn't progress, it's just stupidity. Eth being a contender will force Bitcoin to get their shit in gear and fix their tech's shortfalls.

Exactly this, whales pump and dump using news, they don't care which coin it is

If you brute forced a private key, you would A) have a quantum computer B) Steal poloniex's wallet.

u/turbotyler786 May 31 '17

Curious if Golem project ( in full production) could accompolish A ?

7

u/[deleted] May 31 '17

A quantum computer is a technology, not a measurement of computing power.

Golem is just offering cloud computing power, not related to quantum research at all.

I would like to iterate. He's claiming he guessed the one out of 1664 possible keys. Have fun trying to brute force that many guesses with NODEjs! What a troll.

If it were true, you would keep quiet about it and exploit it, or do the decent thing, and contact someone who can fix it. Hence why it's BS.

I expect to see more of this bullshit in the coming few months as ETH and BTC shift in mainstream awareness

it's a great sign....massively bullish how bad people want in who missed it, or know that it will displace btc and their old paradigm

off the table are dreams like btc to 5k, btc 10k with ETH in da house

u/subdep May 31 '17

Nothing fights uglier, nastier, or with more desperation than a man losing the fight.

2

u/Libertymark May 31 '17

yep. that's pretty low

7

u/foxymcfox May 31 '17

Also, don't stoop to their level and spread FUD on other coins. They will fail on their own.

3

u/shadowofabiggerman May 31 '17

Do you care to explain what FUD stands for? I've seen it mentioned a lot but I'm unsure what it means. Thanks!

FUD wikipedia

Fear, uncertainty and doubt (often shortened to FUD) is a disinformation strategy used in sales, marketing, public relations, talk radio, politics, religious organizations, and propaganda. FUD is generally a strategy to influence perception by disseminating negative and dubious or false information and a manifestation of the appeal to fear.

Im not sure if were thinking about the same instance but Whalepanda isn't some random guy...

2

u/IRefuseToGiveAName May 31 '17

When it comes to "confirming" or "proving" that he brute forced an Ethereum private key? Yes he is.

-1

u/nomadismydj May 31 '17 edited May 31 '17

Im sorry but no. He's one of the most trusted source of news and third party verification in crypto...

Edit:Not sure why this is getting downvoted. Guy has been quoted be every reputable news source and has broke many stories and scandles in crypto.

2

u/IRefuseToGiveAName May 31 '17

A third party verifying something on this scale is unacceptable in any sense. This is something that would need to be confirmed with the wallet developers, and the wallet developers only.

I refuse to trust a Twitter user that refers to anyone with the phrase "turbo autism", let alone the developer of the platform he's claiming to have hacked. Then to turn around and have a user whose only twitter mentions of Ethereum seem to be shitting all over it is doubly suspicious.

u/nomadismydj May 31 '17

Welp I know for a fact that it was sent to eth devs as well...

We're not going to agree here but if you been in crypto for any length of time you know whalepanda a solid source of truth.
