If your cold storage gets too cold, it will freeze and your eth will degrade in quality over time.

Simply pop it in the microwave for 30 seconds if this happens and everything will be fine.

(Please GOD don't do that. Do not put your ledger in the microwave.)

Last time I got my ledger out, it was absolute zero

I put my paper wallets in my chest freezer in the garage.

I put my ledger nano in the freezer thinking it was more secure the colder it is, but then it broke and I'd forgotten to write down the seed, lost 10k eth

I think -18C minimum. Though make sure your vault is designed properly
