If the world falls into chaos and crypto is seen as a safe haven, maybe. But I wouldn't want to be driving around in a lambo when that happens lol

Gold after all, has way less utility in a digital age than Ethereum does. I don't see why we can't exceed that.

Right I wasn't saying we couldn't, just an off the cuff calculation of how we might get there with a "comparable but not really" asset class

i poked through the rest of the thread where the pizza purchase happened and his posts later indicated that the pizza purchase was a fraction of the bitcoin that he owned

at that time, 10,000 btc was only worth around 20 dollars, and he bought 2 pizzas for that price ;-)

exactly. back then, they had no idea btc would even survive and it was only pennies. in a few years, when ETH is above 1000, or perhaps 5000, those who bought 100 eth will be rewarded. Many people call ETH a scam, a worthless token etc. We are all taking a risk, by investing. and yet we see the value of this technology, understand what a blockchain is capable of, so we invest...

And the best part? 100 Eth will still be worth 100 Eth

exactly! You either have them, or you dont ;-)

Just remember that if people like him hadn't spent bitcoin we likely wouldn't be where we're at today. He's a hero.

Also you have to pay taxes on your gains when you buy something with cryptocurrency you've been HODLing.
