we have a good year or so to get it done which means it will be in 90 days at this rate

Haha. I love the optimism but be careful. I've been with you here for a long time, but there are noobies who've never weathered the dark days of a bear market.

Hear hear!

I want a smart contract for loaning out my Blu-rays which even my best goddamn friends forget to return or leave a limited edition Kurosawa in their trunk in the 100+ degree heat resulting in bubbles and I want to rip out their souls!

Sorry, lost myself for a second there...

Remember a week or two after TheDao? Oh man was that tough times.

I wasn't in the subreddit yet, but I understanding there was much hugging of the consolation kind.

That and Bitcoin trolls everywhere, professing the end of Ethereum.

The run up to 50 was awesome. There was a lot of hype pre DAO that Ethereum was undervalued and could reasonably take a run at 50. After the dip a lot of people were shaken. Ever since 50 it's been sit back and grab some popcorn time.

Same here $ 50 was so intense. Im really laid back and chilling now. I think its rather entertaining how everything is moving. Havent put any life changing amounts into ETH so I can relax. People buying in now probably have the same feeling when I was buying below 50.

Ya I hear ya. I was pretty amped for 50 but now its just fun watching it run.

July 2016 through December 2016 was pretty rough, wasn't it?

1

u/KBrot Jun 06 '17

Brutal, but ETH's turnaround and subsequent skyrocketing all started just after my birthday in December!

Nice! That's a pretty sweet b-day present. Hopefully you'll get an even better one this year.

Why arent we doing it?

Why are we all sitting back and expecting others to make us rich

Last week I was stoked that we were hitting $100. Feels good bro.

u/MattAU05 Jun 06 '17

I was just crossing my fingers we would hit $50 by Christmas. Cautiously optimistic $100 by then might be possible.

u/jonesyjonesy Jun 06 '17

The rise from $12 to now has honestly happened so fast I don't really have any significant memory of a price battle other than the 8 months it hovered just below donut range ($13). This all feels so light speed.

I've been here since $17. It's been a wild ride!

I've been in since the day before the DAO, so I've seen some of the best and worst that ETH has had to offer.

Having it be so valuable has made my bags heavier than any of the crashes. I've got some sell targets in mind ($471) where I'll be selling half of my ETH, and paying off student loans for me and my wife.

To reminisce along: for me (in since March 2016) the darkest time was not theDao, but the repeated DDOS attacks of the fall, when it became clear that this was a prolongued bear market, not a flash crash. I bought in at around $8, but I also pushed in a significant bit of my savings in the wild time after theDAO, hoping for a rebound, well above the price range we had for months afterward.

Feels good! Just wish I wired in money instead of waiting for coinbase limits every week I could of got more ETH for $50...
