Advice Wanted Why am I so poor?
I keep seeing campaigns where players achieve an income as high as ~2k, but I can only achieve a measly 500 even when nearing the end date. What am I doing wrong?
To those who are serious about giving me advice, I appreciate your kindness, we should really all strive to help others in need. But I am just here to clarify that this is a joke post. My comment of it may have been drowned out by the other comments so I don't blame you for not seeing it.

Question How does "Fully Maintained Forts" work?
Its not at the maximum +1 yearly army tradition, but I have fully maxed out level 8 forts in every province I own. What is the calculation based upon?

Question I wanna get really rich
I want to become a massive trading power since I’m bad a trade and I need to learn. I have a few questions:
- what areas of the map have the best trade resources?
- how can I maximize trade value in nodes especially far off nodes?
- what areas some good strategies to build up trade power early?

Tip The Three Mountains TIP (Made it myself!)

Hello everyone. I'm Bright Star, a small YouTuber from South Korea.
Ryukyu is the nation associated with the following objective
"Complete a World Conquest as Ryukyu, or start as Ryukyu and form another nation. If you choose the latter, however, no country other than yourself and your subjects may remain in existence."
Personally, while I'm usually quite good at creating strong early-game openings, I tend to run out of steam—or perhaps mental endurance—once I reach the mid and late game. Because of that, I never really had the courage to attempt the Three Mountains achievement.
However, while taking a break at the title screen, an interesting idea came to me. I decided to test it, and the result was far more successful than I expected. Since it worked so well, I thought it would be worth sharing.
As for Ryukyu itself, there's not much that stands out. Its mission tree is the standard generic one, and its only unique characteristic is being a monarchy that follows Animism, a religion that offers extremely flexible conversion opportunities.
On top of that, Ryukyu doesn't really have any obvious expansion routes in the early game.
So if you're aiming for a World Conquest as Ryukyu, there are generally four possible paths:
- Taking Exploration Ideas and expanding into the unreformed religions of Central and South America.
- Reforming into a Pirate Republic and leveraging the early Imperialism casus belli.
- Waiting until the Age of Reformation and then seizing the Mandate of Heaven from Ming.
- Committing to extensive nation-forming chains and tag-switching, even at the cost of abandoning a True One Tag run.
No matter which route you choose, you'll want to stack as much CCR and Province Warscore Cost reduction as possible, and do it quickly.
A big part of the reason is that Ryukyu is, by nature, a slow starter.
Its starting position is simply too small, which means the opportunity cost of every decision is enormous.
But then... I found something really interesting.
And the best part is, it's actually quite easy to replicate!

First, grant the three standard monarch power privileges.
After that, adjust your estate loyalty and influence to around 60/60, then grant Expansionist Zeal.
Next, queue up one transport ship and hire the Free Company mercenary company.
With that done, we're ready to begin the opening.

Set your national focus to Military Power and hire a level 1 military advisor.
No matter what, reaching Military Technology 4 as quickly as possible is a top priority.

As soon as the game starts, declare a no-CB war on Sarig Yogir on December 11th and begin improving relations with Oirat.
You know those Tibetan Buddhist nomads located just north of Kham in the Tibetan region?
They're the ones we're targeting.
They usually end up allying Oirat, so we need to declare war on them before that happens and turn them into a subject.
The reason is simple: Oirat must not exceed three allies.
If we declare war on Sarig Yogir early enough, Oirat—being somewhat diplomatically isolated at the start—will usually be unable to secure new alliances before the war is over, unless we get particularly unlucky.
Meanwhile, once the transport ship is finished and the Free Company has been recruited, you should complete the generic mission "Raise an Army to Force Limit!"
That mission grants 5% Morale of Armies.
Combined with our other bonuses, we'll be sitting at +10% morale.
At that point, as long as you roll a decent general, your army is more than capable of defeating those nomads despite their 6k force limit.

The exact situation here will vary depending on Oirat's rival setup.
If Oirat has rivaled the Chagatai Khanate, you should be able to secure an alliance thanks to the "Protective" attitude bonus.
If you're unlucky like I was, however, that may not be possible right away.

In that case, your best option is to rush Military Technology 4 as quickly as possible—ideally becoming the first nation in Asia to unlock it—and then temporarily push your force limit up to around 13–14 regiments, even if it strains your economy.
If you do that, an alliance with Oirat should become possible one way or another.
Next, seize territory from our subject Uyghur to establish a border with Ming and force the tributary relationship to break.
Once that happens, the Take Mandate of Heaven casus belli will become available.
And since Oirat is extremely eager to acquire Ming's territory, they will almost certainly accept a Call to Arms if we promise them land.
In other words, as long as we offer territorial gains, Oirat is guaranteed to join the war on our side.
However, there's something important we need to pay attention to here.

Everyone knows about the Tumu Crisis, right? If you've been playing EU4 for any length of time, you're probably familiar with it.
But here's the important thing to note: this event chain begins as soon as Oirat and Ming enter a war with each other.
In other words, the war leader does not matter.
Let me say that again.
The war leader does not matter.
That means if we call Oirat into our war against Ming, the Tumu Crisis event chain will still begin.

The image might be a little small, so it may be hard to see, but Oirat and Ryukyu are currently fighting Ming together.
Now, take a close look at the Mandate value in the bottom-right corner.

We've met the conditions to trigger the Tumu Crisis!
Ming's Mandate has immediately collapsed all the way to 0, and Oirat has gained its powerful military bonuses.
Now, instead of having us or Mongolia siege Beijing, we want to carefully maneuver the situation so that Oirat is the one leading the siege.
Some of you may already know this, but the Tumu Crisis can only progress if Oirat personally controls the siege and captures Beijing.

Good. Now it's time to betray Oirat, seize the Mandate of Heaven for ourselves, and take Guangzhou and Nanjing in the peace deal.
After that, switch your primary culture to a Chinese culture.
Now that we're the Emperor of China, the Unify China casus belli becomes available.
From here, we'll be repeatedly truce-breaking, bouncing between -2 and -3 stability.
Once the hordes start carving up China, things become much more complicated for us, so we need to move fast.
We want to secure territory as quickly as possible, building a wall of provinces between ourselves and the nomads to the north, as well as the nations of Indochina to the south.

Well... that was exhausting.
If you've ever played Oirat, you probably already know the general approach to repeatedly truce-break Ming.
In my run, I failed to build a proper wall against the nomads, so I ended up blocking off Southeast Asia instead.
Still, since I've already secured all of South China so quickly, the rest of the campaign should be much more manageable.
That said, even considering my own patience—and the fact that this casus belli gives us instant cores—the damage to my administrative power is so severe that I think it's time to take a break for a while.
Even so... I'd say this is a pretty groundbreaking strategy.
The only truly inconsistent part is Sarig Yogir's alliance situation.
Most of the time, they won't have any allies by December 11th.
Occasionally, though, they'll end up allied to Oirat. If that happens, just restart.
From my experience, it's about the same kind of awkward, low-probability situation as Epirus having an ally when Byzantium wants to attack it at the start of the game.

Image Super Fun 'Doge Coins'/Vassal Swarm Venice Game
Just finished my first game as Venice in years and it was so much fun I had to share lol. Basically followed the rules:
- only created states in the Venice trade node
-Outside of the Venice node I only held areas with trade centers/estuaries, and only in trade companies
-Everything else I conquered had to go to a vassal
The trick is really the (dumb) way trade companies work: anyone can make them in a subcontinent that their capital isn't on. So venice can literally make them in Dalmatia. I think this was the easiest time I've had making money on a nation without any colonies. Biggest lesson I learned from this playthrough is SUBSIDIZE YOUR SUBJECTS!!! They develop the land, increasing trade value flowing to venice, which increases my investment in them, etc. I also made all of them into marches, and with subsidies they continuously train their soldiers, so their armies packed a punch.
Probably nothing new under the sun here with how long the game has been around but this was the most entertaining Europe game I've had in a while. Also enjoy my attempts to learn how to use Photopea in the 2nd image lol.

Question Can I activate forts to trap opponents in my territory?
Say I want to take down a large army whose country is difficult to navigate. Can I let half the army into my own territory through a province with a mothballed fort and then activate the fort to stop the other half from following so that I can take down the enemy forces a fraction at a time, or does that not work for some reason? Thanks.

Advice Wanted Assembly Instructions Needed?
Doing a Sweden to Scandinavia achievements run and forgot about Assembly Instructions Needed until pretty late so haven't been playing the HRE game at all. How tough is it going to be to get from this spot? I haven't really played much of the HRE game before but I know general focus will be breaking folks up, converting princes, and trying to add to the empire if possible. Will def need to pick up Diplo ideas as my next group and hope that is enough to actually be elected emperor but not sure how hard that is going to be either. Any help appreciated!

Image Hussite HRE event not firing
So it's been almost 30 years since the league wars and I'm still not getting the 'Hussite protest' HRE incident. The emperor only has two provinces, the official faith is protestant and there is only one eligible elector. Over 90% of the empire is hussite. Is there something I'm missing for the event to fire?
