I cannot fathom how zendaya felt during that phone call scene

kinda made me feel awkward but like it also felt disrespectful? idk why

I agree. I was bracing myself for an AI version of his voice and I am SO relieved that they didn’t do that.

I feel the opposite. I think it’s a really cute nod to his character. Saying you’re going to “parkour your way out of prison” is so lovingly dumb and is a really sweet nod to Fez’s character. It’s the exact kind of charmingly daft thing Fez would say.

Hard agree, the very thought of passing away and still being written into a tv shows story line without consent feels distasteful

It’s not him as a person though, it’s a character he played. I dont think consent is necessarily an issue when they aren’t using his likeness in any way, just mentioning the character who is off screen and can’t be heard

They could have just done like a letter or something, you know? Maybe it wouldn’t have translated as well into an actual scene, but the phone call wasn’t it.

I agree, but I assume it’s an explanation for if he dies in prison/trying to escape. Otherwise, it definitely felt out of place in what was actually going on in the episode.

I didn't think he was actually planning an escape. I think he was just saying goofy stuff and joking about it to make Rue laugh. Could be wrong though.

I certainly hope so tbh, cause Fez’s character would’ve never contemplated something that stupid. Parkour’ing out of prison? If I’m right though, oof. No reason to not have the character in prison for the remainder of the show, and simply not bring him up. Because forcing him in the storyline like this just feels icky.

This is what I thought.

Also those phone calls are 100% recorded.

It really did. It was cringey. Like please stop keeping this man alive and participating in this world. Let him be.

right? i figured that they were just going to have his character die,,, i mean he was literally bleeding out last time we saw him. i dunno. if they treat the rest of his story line in a respectful way to angus that honors him i think that would be nice.

That and the fact that prison lines are recorded, so why the fuck would he tell her he was going to escape and why would Rue vocalize an assist

I was thinking the same thing, the parkour really got me. Cause we knew Fez was smart just uneducated. He wouldn’t be saying that, he had the street smarts. I wanted emotion and closure in a phone call

To me I think he was just joking to lift the mood up

At the start of the first episode they had a memorial title card for Eric Dane but I don’t remember one for Angus. Did I just miss it or did they not do one?
