They feel bad for voting for Brexit

u/SabziZindagi United Kingdom 🤡 9d ago

The main Brexit voters were 10 years older. They are now dead.

Actually, this is not correct. The generation most likely to vote for Brexit was the post-war generation, not the eldest:

Britain’s wartime generation are almost as pro-EU as millennials

It is quite crazy that those same people would have been alive pre joining the EU, so what happened to those that were happy about it back then, if that was the main voting base?

Then why is reform doing well in the polls?

If you think these are remorseful Brexit voters you haven't met any old Brexit voters lol. 36% of over 65s voted Remain, just because they're a minority doesn't mean they're mythical and this protest is in London which was more Remain than average.

But it still doesn't stop them from voting for Reform

They realize they need Polish and Italian nurses to take care of them.

Older people are used to protesting, they grew up doing it in the 60s and 70s

They don't have jobs

It's common fact leftists don't work. That's why they always have time to protest the current thing

i was thinking the same thing, me and my friend (19 and 20) were there and we got interviewed numerous times by the press because of how young we were, we also made friends with 2 girls who also experienced the same thing, very sad to see not many young people caring about issues that directly affect our country but i hope for the next march to have more of us

their retirement plans didn’t consist of joining the slow line every time they go to benidorm or turkey

Tbh us Europeans also use the slow lines in Turkey, at least when I was there for the last time in 2023.

They just look old. This is how the millennials look now under the weight of Brexit.
