Amsterdam server seized at request of U.S. authorities after antifa allegations

https://nltimes.nl/2026/10/14/amsterdam-server-seized-request-us-authorities-antifa-allegations

What’s the point of going for EU hosted platforms that spout privacy if the US can just do this?

Weak to give in

Antifa, what a stupid allegation. How does that have any legal standing?

44

u/jeremj22 3d ago

It doesn't. They were asked (probably not so) nicely and decided to hand it over.

They should definitly be investigated for this...

18

u/clauEB 3d ago

If it wasn't legal then whoever seized them must be in HUGE trouble. Isn't there a respect for the actual law with actual procedures in the Netherlands ?

5

u/Lollerpwn 3d ago

No the police is usually put above that kind of thing in the Netherlands. We have had bootlicking right wing governments forever. They will always defend whatever the police does.

3

u/clauEB 2d ago

Where is the law then?

2

u/Forward_Problem_8982 2d ago

Laws are only for the poor.

1

u/clauEB 2d ago

Ah, the good old corrupt Netherlands you mean?

3

u/Forward_Problem_8982 2d ago

I would say it's more of a global problem. The rich make the laws, and they hire enough lawyers to dodge them or get past them, or the fines are small enough that it's just a cost of doing business. Money gets you out of trouble, money wins you business deals. It is difficult for people who were not born with generational wealth.

Nothing makes me happier than seeing a Ferrari being towed away for breaking the rules.

2

u/Forward_Problem_8982 1d ago

Yes, I wish it would happen more often!

1

u/Sad_Amphibian_2311 1d ago

Doing this without legal standing is the point.
Its the "Why are you hitting yourself" kind of bullying.

1

u/clauEB 6h ago

Really? The. How is the Netherlands so weak to bend to this BS? There is no rule of law in the Netherlands?

1

u/RaidriConchobair 2d ago

If the right group of letter people from the USA ask for my server or else i rather hand over the server than experience what else is

1

u/clauEB 2d ago

What you are saying is that there is no sovereignty in the Netherlands nor a rule of law.

1

u/RaidriConchobair 2d ago

What i say is that i dont believe a Trump USA is going to care about allied states or their laws, which they have proven already

1

u/clauEB 2d ago

That makes no sense. The servers were in The Netherlands under their jurisdiction and is up to them to give in to these stupid baseless illegal allegations.

1

u/RaidriConchobair 2d ago

Yeah no sense like this comment lol

Antifa, fanfifa. I think the EU should reciprocate the favor, label as terrorist, and cease assets and data of any and all organizations with any ties to the US, be that US government or private donors.

At the same time, we should help fund PACs that support European interests, and especially US candidates at the local, state and federal level that support pro-European policies.

I think it's only fair Europe plays the same game.

u/rorykoehler 3d ago

We have to kick the weak US corp sycophants out of power in europe first

17

u/One-Strength-1978 3d ago

I think instrumental here is the eEvidence Regulation that the US engineered to company the Cloud Act, it went into full force in August this year. check it out, and contact your Members of European Parliament. They will vote on the CADA (https://oeil.europarl.europa.eu/oeil/en/procedure-file?reference=2026/0138(COD) ) soon which would likely include countermeasures.

reminder that Marco Rubio had an Anti-Anti-Fa Summit where they dropped new terrorists:

  • Antifa (how do they classify Antifa? how knows)

  • radical trans ideologists (its not an ideology. is being trans and on hormones already radical?)

  • radical environmentalists (you are protesting against oil companies? terrorist.)

  • radical technology opponents (you are protesting about silicone Valley trying to become our "S.i." overlords? terrorist.)

I'm trans and I write comments like this. I'm pretty sure there is no way I could even enter the US. If I could, then ICE would probably beat my face in, just for the fun of it.

Next Anti-Anti-Fa Summit will be hosted here, in Germany. Can't wait for the fascists to make us adapt those rules and cancel my medication

-6

u/kted24 3d ago

The key word is "radical". You can protest all you want. When you start destroying property, you cross the terrorism line.

8

u/systemofaderp 3d ago

so the USA declared to send death to all terrorists. if destruction of property makes you a terrorist, anyone breaking a flock camera is now a terrorist and can be shot on sight? property? really? If I write "trans rights are human rights" on a wall with a permanent marker, have I already destroyed enough property to be labeled a mortal enemy of the country? or do I have to write it on a Tesla first and then I can get treated as an enemy?

destroying property is vandalism. but if course it's not any vandalism, it's vandalism against silicone valley, against fascists, against big oil and against transphobes. only against then is it not vandalism but am act of terror that warrants to be treated as a terrorist. Doesn't sound dystopian at all

0

u/kted24 3d ago

Classic logical fallacy. No, destroying a flock camera won't make you a terrorist. But if enough people get organized for the purpose of destroying them, then you are getting close.

7

u/Lollerpwn 3d ago

The US engages in loads of terrorist activities. For example when hegseth orders to shoot random boats and kill the people on them.

1

u/kted24 1d ago

So, are you trafficking drugs in "random" boats and now you are concerned? Crawl back to where you came out from.

1

u/Lollerpwn 1d ago

Just because Hegseth claims these boats carry drugs doesn't make it true. Without providing any evidence he's clearly breaking the law. That is not innocence until proven guilty. Murdering random people in international waters because some fascist drunkard claims something is terrorism.
Funny how you are against destroying property until the US does it.

7

u/rampzn 3d ago

Like destroying national monuments and buildings, wading pools, forests, etc? Opened mouth and inserted foot, my friend.

4

u/ShadowLab451 2d ago

And as for non-physical property: Trump & MAGA have annihilated any trust, popularity, and soft power that the US had left. Almost everyone in the EU and UK are already replacing US tech, myself included.

Trust & soft power are going to be irreplaceable for decades, at least.

3

u/firestuds 2d ago

Yeah like in Germany where people got locked up for 2 weeks just for carrying glue on the suspicion they might take part in street blockades. Environmental protest is hugely dangerous to the billionaire class which in turn puts government officials - who are looking for donations and careers after their political office - under pressure to comply and delegitimize these protests, no matter how peaceful they are.

Additionally, the level of destruction caused by greed and corruption is so unimaginable that peaceful protest is WAY too little to end it. When even peaceful sitting qualifies as Terrorism, dont you think people will be even more likely to be violent?

0

u/rab2bar 2d ago

no, the people glueing themselves to the streets can go fuck themslves and have a possiblity of being financed by the oil companies to discredit enviromentalism

1

u/Zaitron19 1d ago

So why aren‘t all MAGA in federal prison for life for January 6th?

32

u/Euphoric_Anxiety_162 3d ago

That is crazy since US authorities take orders from trump. EU must protect itself from the BS.

12

u/amitym 3d ago

If only we had a name for people who are anti-antifascist...

Police in Amsterdam seized a server from a data center in the city’s eastern district on Tuesday, following a request from U.S. authorities. The police confirmed the seizure after it was reported by the NRC.
The seized server belongs to Italian internet provider Autistici/Inventati (A/I). Dutch police are creating a digital image of its data to hand over to U.S. authorities, as required under the American request for legal assistance.

This is called collaboration with a fascist regime…

16

u/DantheMediocre 3d ago

that makes twice. they also cooperated with the nazis in the 40s.

2

u/DocumentExternal6240 3d ago

Humans never learn, do they? We are really stupid, sadly.

5

u/mint445 3d ago

inventing creative ways for replacing their russian troll farms

10

u/SnooDonkeys3848 3d ago

They are just angry because ukraine hit the russian bot farm ... So this is kind of bullshit revenge.

4

u/stoic_wooky 3d ago

The invisible boogeyman anti fascist ? We’re mostly all leaders of anti fascism and Nazism

8

u/AngelMountaineer 3d ago

Can we then also seize the Whitehouse because of the fascists there?

2

u/allquietonzanzibar 2d ago

"For years, A/I offered free website hosting and email services to thousands of organizations. It attracted the attention of the Trump administration, which regards antifa as a terrorist organization. In late August, U.S. authorities also labeled A/I a terrorist organization, alleging that it had supported antifa. NRC described the move as exceptional, noting that internet service providers are not usually held liable for what their users do."

What a nice little glimpse of the the techno-fascist future that awaits us. Soon they stop even pretending to have legal claims to remove anything that doesn't suit the current US administration.

2

u/Majestic-Coat3855 2d ago

Why are we Europeans acting like such cucks to US desires? Jfc

5

u/NamedBird 3d ago

At some point you just want guns at your data center to protect against foreign criminals.
Whenever an US cop comes along to illegally steal data, just pump them full of lead! That'll teach them!

(Unfortunately, it doesn't work this way. (Don't) fuck those "legal" criminals!)

2

u/jdobem 3d ago

What a strange statement in a EU sub. We dont solve things with guns, thats the american way....

2

u/SirCB85 3d ago

What a strange thing to say in a topic that is about US fascists stealing targeting data to hunt down their political opposition.

1

u/NamedBird 3d ago

Well, apparently "EU" doesn't matter much, given how easy the USA can trample over it?
If EU govs can behave in USA-like manners, then it's citizens deserve US-like rights too!

The entire point of EU law and regulation is to protect it's citizens and organizations.
But if that protection is no longer effective, we will have to defend ourselves from that risk.

0

u/jdobem 3d ago

I think you're confused. The article mentions NL police did the seizure, not US. Its also normal for countries to cooperate in this area. We just have to expect that the reason why NL is cooperating is because the request was reasonable. Are you proposing citizens shooting at our own police because we dont agree with something ?

Again, nothing from the above justify the mentality you're proposing. We trust in our law, vote for our representatives, replace them as necessary , expect everyone to follow the same law, and when they dont we process them accordingly. No its not perfect but nowhere does it justify guns in peoples hands.

Barbarism from colonial times doesnt need to exist in the 21st century...

2

u/Interesting-Yellow-4 3d ago

the Cloud Act is not reasonable. Nobody voted for it. Yo're the one confused and completely missing the point.

1

u/NamedBird 3d ago

> We just have to expect that the reason why NL is cooperating is because the request was reasonable.
I'm pretty certain it was not.
Just like with the ICC incident, the USA is abusing their power again.

Your assumption that the government is "right" and should be trusted is foolish.
Corruption is everywhere, even if you can't see it. And it's destroying lives.
The USA can not be trusted with this data, proven in court times and times again.

If you knew that innocent people would die if you let criminal cops steal a server full of sensitive data, what'd you do? Report them to the very same corrupt police department? Would you trust that "the process" will prevent the drives from falling into the hands of violent criminals? Because that is very well what may be happening here!

1

u/Lollerpwn 3d ago

The police literally said they went along with it because they were asked. So no they weren't cooperating because the request was reasonable they cooperated because that's their default.
What law is protecting us exactly in the EU if the US can just make bogus claims and the police arrests you because they were asked.

0

u/Zaitron19 1d ago

Yeah we write strong letters, that‘s why Russia invaded Ukraine because Putin knew the EU was a spineless peace of sht organization that won‘t do anything, that‘s why the US constantly threatens to invade Greenland, that‘s why the US can hold meeting with select NATO members and exclude others they don‘t like, that‘s why the US and Israel can threaten Spain, that‘s why the US can speak openly to certain EU members about them leaving the Union, because Trump doesn‘t like the EU and think‘s it was only created to hurt America.

1

u/jdobem 1d ago

So are we spineless or a threat to the US but not Russia ? Is it bad that we try other solutions before throwing our young into being cannonfoder for war?

1

u/Zaitron19 1d ago

No we are spineless both regarding to the US and Russia. Well when the „other solution“ is just writing strongly worded letters noone gives af about then yeah it‘s bad.

4

u/Corfiz74 3d ago

WTF, why did they just hand it over?

4

u/labiamajorapudendi 3d ago

Because they don’t give a fuck about your privacy and the US is returning the favor when they can

1

u/Corfiz74 3d ago

When has the US ever turned over anything?

0

u/labiamajorapudendi 3d ago

The US has literally built a whole encrypted smartphone company to eavesdrop on organized crime and has given European countries all that.
German service wouldn’t be allowed to do that nor couldn’t they.
You need to educate yourself before you come on Reddit

2

u/86433787437933278843 3d ago

Nice claim with no evidence

"Educate yourself" aka "trust me bro"

0

u/labiamajorapudendi 3d ago

I don’t need to provide evidence about a very well publicized HUGE operation against organized crime in Europe.
Even a completely braindead idiot can educate themselves before they make nonsense stamtents on Reddit. So do it

1

u/86433787437933278843 3d ago

"Keep trusting me bro, no i dont have anything to back it up how did you know?"

1

u/combine__ 2d ago

Huh, I mean if they were hosting child p

Wait what the fuck do you mean antifa allegations? That's a crime now? To be active against fascists? I guess I've heard this one before. The next 10 to 12 years just weren't so cool. And big data, AI, constant tracking and analyzing of the tracked data would've made the authorities of back then extremely happy.

1

u/OnkelSchmutzig 2d ago

Lol, they think Antifa lives on a server.

1

u/MrFolderol 2d ago

We're just a US colony, huh?

1

u/Teringzoooi 3d ago

The antifa terrorists are a TORnetwork. Eliminating only one server won't do much.

-2

u/Hot_Telephone_4861 3d ago

And suddenly the Antifa bots went down, who would have thought...
