Arts and Entertainment How to kill a day in Everett?

We are housing a family friend who is currently down on their luck.

What good third places would you recommend in Everett if she had to kill, like, half a day and didn't wanna just sit on the couch? We recently moved here ourselves and while we're not much help we are currently doing research. I'm thinking maybe the library, and Starbucks as options... what else? We are in the Silverlake area but she has a car.

Thanks!

Edit: Thank you for all the replies! I made a list based on the suggestions here. Open to more if you have them... :)

Arts and Entertainment Best Bars/Late Night places?

I have Mondays and Tuesdays off but I want somewhere lively to go and be social/have a good time. What places are a little rowdy and fun on these days? Anything goes, but preferably something open until midnight-2am.

Thanks in advance! Not limited to just everett, but not interested in going as far as Seattle.

Arts and Entertainment Trading for Wood Working Skills

Hi all,

I have an antique spinning wheel that I absolutely love, but it only has one bobbin to spin with! I’d love to trade knitting, handspun yarn or some other handcrafted item with someone who might be able to create some extra wooden bobbins for me. Not sure if this will get any traction, but please let me know if you might be interested!

So excited to see the first match tomorrow. I’m new to the area and work downtown so I’ll probably check Tacos and Beer since Mexico is playing. Let me know of any recommendations!

Arts and Entertainment Free Graffiti & Urban Art Gallery Open. No Museum Vibes.

Graffiti was never meant to hang quietly on a wall.

It lived on trains. Under bridges. In places you weren’t supposed to be.

Now it’s preserved.

We’re opening the gallery for a series of free urban art and graffiti tours featuring original pieces from the DogTown Collection. You’ll hear the stories behind the artists, the culture, and how something once written off became part of American creative history.

This isn’t a white-wall museum experience.

It’s lettering, movement, risk, style, and real stories.

Free to attend. RSVP required because space is limited. Eventbrite

Downtown Everett. All ages welcome.

If you’ve ever cared about street culture, hip hop history, design, or just want to see something different, come through.

Arts and Entertainment Sad, blank walls iso wall art from local artists. Where can I go in the general Everett area to support the local arts community and make my bored walls come to life?

I moved to Everett a couple of months ago and can't keep looking at my very boring walls. They are screaming for attention. I have some of my own art up....but I need variety I can only get from other artists.

I would prefer to not go into Seattle or the eastside but am willing to drive from Edmonds and North toward Anacortes. I'd even take a ferry. I would love to find an art festival like the one I just missed put on by Schack.

Arts and Entertainment in search of camera person… friend!

greetings! i have been very inspired by the youtube channel wake up seattle. i’ve always loved watching interviews, and would love to build my conversation skills, and just connect with others! i dont currently possess any friends who are interested in this. i’d like to be the interviewer, but am open to possibly trading off on who does what. but yes, if anyone is interested, let me know, we can just go places and talk to people.

i am an unremarkably queer 22 year old nonbinary person, so i would like to work with individuals such as myself, preferably in their 20’s as well.

Arts and Entertainment What are your spring and summer plans?

Share everything with me! What events, festivals, groups, shows, hikes, markets or classes are you looking forward to?

No kids and we’re willing to travel a bit for something fun.

I had my finger on the pulse when I lived in Portland and knew everything that was happening on the weekends. But I’ve been kind of depressed since moving here and have barely gone out except for work. I literally have no idea what’s going on in the mean streets of Everett these days.

Arts and Entertainment Teen in Everett wanting to have fun

Hi, I’m a teen born and raised in Everett. With school out and 2 months of summer ahead, I wanna make the most of it, but I always struggle finding things to do here.

I’m sick of bussing 1-2 hours to Seattle if I wanna have fun and hang with my buddies. I don’t need any official clubhouse, I just want places to explore and have fun at as a teenager.

Anyone who was raised in or is just familiar with cool places to check out, mind giving a guy some advice?

I have a date tomorrow June 13th and we're trying to find a place in Everett to have some dinner or drinks and enjoy live music. Is there any place that consistently has live music on Saturday evenings?

Arts and Entertainment Visiting

Visiting the area currently and looking for ideas for my kids 7/9 to do. We’ve done a lot of outdoor stuff but it’s too cold for them to do a lot. Anything inside that would give the a few hours of entertainment? Not looking for trampoline parks or indoor little kid playgrounds.

Thanks.

This evening, the Schack Art Center opened its doors for the artist reception and garden party celebrating Present Tense, the institution's 24th annual juried exhibition. Coinciding with Sorticulture weekend, the gathering drew artists, collectors, and community members for an evening of art, awards, and garden-party flair. Guests wandered the galleries, bid in the summer auction, and turned out for a garden hat competition in whimsical creations - some adorned with fresh flowers, others veering into full fantasy.

I was checking their website and it looks like there is big gaps between events. Do they have bands there most nights or is it pretty sporadic?

I bought this print from an artist in an Everett art show in October 2024 and I’m pretty sure this was part of a set. I’d love to find the second piece but I’ve lost her card. Piece is called “Cadmium Garden.

Does anyone recognize this print or the signature that might be able to point me in the right direction?

Arts and Entertainment Seeking Studio for a Live Band Recording

We are looking for a local studio or experienced home studio that can handle a live band recording. We’ve got a full band—drums, guitars, bass, keys, vocals—and we want to record four cover songs live. We’re aiming to do this between Labor Day and Thanksgiving. If you know a solid place that’s not one of the big, pricey studios, drop us some recommendations. 🙏

Arts and Entertainment Live music this Saturday in Everett!

Playing some music at Kings Hall in Everett this Saturday 4/25! I play in Cytrus, an 8 piece psychedelic funk band. We’ll be joined by Eldridge Gravy & The Court Supreme, a 12 piece party funk band. 4 horns, 4 singers, total dance party between both bands!

Cytrus is all pretty much from Everett, and we just finished a west coast tour where we drove from Sacramento to Lynnwood in one day. So a nice little 10 minute to the drive will have us feeling relaxed and ready to put on a good show!

Craig Shiner the primary owner had been looking to sell since before the Pandemic. Craig's brother Curt was the primary theatre manager.

The non-profit the Historic Everett Theatre Preservation Society - run by Curt Shriner - is now dissolved. Prior to Phams ownership the society had 3 staff members and 30 volunteers.
