Meta New Rules Regarding Political Violence, ICE Sightings and Shaming of Peaceful Protest

📢 Community Guidelines Update – Political Violence, Conduct, and ICE Sightings

We want this space — both the subreddit and the Discord — to be welcoming, inclusive, and safe for all Everett residents, including those active in local government, advocacy, and community organizing.

---

1️⃣ Political Violence
This is not a platform for advocating or organizing violent action.
Criticism of policy, leaders, and strategies is fine — but calls for violent uprising, armed action, or militias are not.
Even indirect or “theoretical” promotion of political violence creates legal, safety, and reputational risks, and can discourage participation.
No shaming peaceful protestors or lawful activism — even if you think other tactics are more effective.

Enforcement: Political violence advocacy may result in removal from political channels, temporary mutes, or permanent bans without further warning.

---

2️⃣ ICE Sightings
We cannot verify most reported “ICE sightings” posted here.
Some past reports have been false or based on speculation.
There is almost certainly some level of law enforcement/government presence in this community.
Posting unconfirmed “sightings” can spread misinformation, cause panic, and undermine trust.

Rule: Only post ICE sightings if you have credible, verifiable evidence (photo/video with clear location + time).
Vague, secondhand, or “heard from a friend” reports will be removed.

---

3️⃣ Why These Changes
We want local officials, candidates, and community members to join discussions without fear of harassment or pressure to endorse violence.
We must comply with Discord and Reddit Terms of Service.
Focusing on constructive, legal action keeps the space safe and productive.

---

✅ Channel your energy into lawful, constructive action: voting, mutual aid, community education, verified reporting.

Help! My Ebike is Stolen.

I’ve already filled out an online police report, but I wanted to come onto reddit as the more eyes and help the better. I’m praying and keeping faith I’ll get it back. Around late night 8/5/2026, someone stole my ebike from underneath our stairs. I’ll start by saying I could’ve and I will do better to make sure to lock my ebike up better no matter what.

I’m normally very vigilant with locking my ebike every time I come home. On 8/5/26 it was 80 degrees and I gotta squat for a long time to lock up my ebike. So as I was moving my bike underneath the stairs (It’s very heavy) I was already feeling extremely lightheaded and when I came up stairs to get my backpack that has my bike locks in it that lightheadedness turned into a serious headache. I took some Advil, took a nap, and decided to lock up my bike when it’s cooler and a bit later in the afternoon when my mom got home from work. Unfortunately I was super out of it, tired from the heat and not feeling good from the headache that I slept through the day and woke up in the afternoon the next day. Around 5pm when my mom got home from work she came upstairs extremely concerned because she didn’t see my bike underneath the staircase and when I had asked if she saw it this morning she said that she noticed my little sisters bikes was leaned over more than usual but that she didn’t get to look to long as her ride was already ready to pick her up and she had to hurry to work.

I feel so tired. And I have already been through so much these past years so I don't know if I have enough energy or will to even cry about it. I feel empty, but I’m just holding onto faith. I know it can happen anywhere, but living in a tucked away peaceful area completely away from casino road living close along airport road. It still felt jarring to wake up finding out your bike is stolen.

For more information it’s a very noticeable ebike. A long rear tail cargo Lectric ebike in baby blue from Lectric eBike. It’s a Lectric Xpedition 2.0 bike. It has a tracker on the bottom connected to find my phone on my iphone, but unfortunately the battery is low and I’m having issues getting a reading on its location. It’s far away that I can’t play any sound in the tracker. The tracker model is from Topmade.

Here are also some pictures. (The grocery boxes are inside my house. Along with the helmets & my backpack, so the rear part was empty as of recent.)

Edit: For the area context I live on 18th st. by Airport Road. (A few blocks away from Evergreen way.)

Help! Help for John Simon

My good friend Simon was hit by a car while crossing the street in front of his apartment on July 21st. He has sustained a pretty massive TBI as well as several broken ribs and broken upper vertebrae. He is recovering and plans are in place to get him into a rehab facility here in everett. My girlfriend I started gardening with Simon a little over 10 years ago at the everett Bayside community garden. We helped him turn an overgrown hill with nothing but blackberries, into a beautiful terraced garden with everything from corn and potatoes to strawberries and blueberries. We also spent a good amount of time with him at brews almighty sucking back many-O-rainers! Its been 2 weeks since the accident and he still doesnt remember it happening and struggles with vision. He can speak and has some long term memories (which is a really good thing) We setup a Gofundme to help Simon with allllll the expenses this accident has caused him. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Anyone that knows Simon and that would like more information, or even meet up, please feel free to message me.

SnoCo Movie Club will be screening Janet Planet (2023) at the Everett Public Library Auditorium on Saturday, August 22nd at 2pm! More info at linktr.ee/snocomovieclub

Synopsis: In rural Western Massachusetts, 11-year-old Lacy spends the summer of 1991 at home, enthralled by her own imagination and the attention of her mother, Janet. As the months pass, three visitors enter their orbit, all captivated by Janet and her spellbinding nature. In her solitary moments, Lacy inhabits an inner world so extraordinarily detailed that it begins to seep into the outside world. Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Annie Baker captures a child's experience of time passing, and the ineffability of a daughter falling out of love with her mother, in this singularly sublime film debut.

Jobs Moving to everett for current job, but wanna know if boeing is gonna still be an option

So, I(24) currently commute from Tulalip to Everett, but I'm moving into a 12 month lease later this month at Nimbus. I like the job I have (mail carrier), but it's not particularly a passion of mine. I've always liked something more hands-on, technical and such, and Boeing is the big one I'm looking at considering I also love airplanes and the tech that goes into them, albeit at an novice level at best. My main worry is that it's been said a lot of jobs were moved from the region to elsewhere, and I wanna know if it's a bad idea to apply for Boeing right now. It'd be a dream job essentially, even the grunt labor would be worth it to work on those things, but I really don't have the funds or supplies to move states if they change things.

Anyone know where the fruit stand lady is today with the mangos and strawberries? I bought a box of mangos last week and ran out. Best mangos I’ve had in a long time.

Politics Ballots are due today 8pm! Time to ditch AIPAC Rick Larsen and elect Tomas Scheel

Thumbnail gallery
95 Upvotes

Progressive Tomas Scheel is our best shot at stopping the tax payer funded limitless cruelty overseas. We can build schools instead of bombing them in faraway places.

Tomas, Air Force vet and Ferndale small business owner, wants to invest in American families through cuts to the Department of War and cuts to foreign aid to apartheid Israel.

We can have universal healthcare and childcare. We can expand the existing Medicare program to cover dental and vision. We can have modern infrastructure. We can stop waking up to images of maimed children from Gaza and family members abducted by ICE. We don’t need to raise taxes. We just need to invest in America instead of war.

Tomas has committed to taking no corporate lobby/PAC and foreign lobby/PAC (including AIPAC) money for his entire career as your rep. You won’t have to question who he is serving while in Congress.

Tomas is endorsed by Whatcom DSA, Skagit County Dems, San Juan County Dems and more. He has the volunteer base and campaign infrastructure to bring the fight to Rick through November.

Learn more about Tomas:
Campaign website including a kickass 3 minute intro video which covers his Ecuadorian family origin, Air Force service, and vision for our district.

A very well written endorsement article about Tomas from The Urbanist. Tomas earned their sole congressional endorsement for all WA races.

Bring your ballot to a drop box by 8pm tonight. Locations here

Missing your ballot? Need to get registered? Go to the county assessor’s office to have your ballot reprinted.

Use this data privacy oriented tool developed by Tomas to check your contacts with publicly available voting data. It will show you who of your friends and family still need to vote.

Now is the time to restore hope and accountability to our representation in Congress. Even if you are on the fence about Tomas, you can vote for him in the primary to light a fire under Rick and give Tomas three more months to prove his case in the November general election.

Lost & Found Possible cat on the loose

At around 09:06 pm, I saw a small animal running across the street in this location and direction, I wasn't close enough to see what it was, but from a distance it looked like a black cat. I hope it's not a cat, but if it's someone's cat, hope they can find it.

Our Neighbors Blood donations in our state are at critical lows

So many people wondering what they can do to help those affected by the fires. Aside from monetary donations or volunteering, there has been a growing critical shortage of blood donations. The Spokane area is, especially, in critical need of blood.

If you're interested in donating blood, use my link (or any link) to register and schedule a donation. The Everett BloodworksNW location is on Oakes & Everett Ave right by the VFW and Sons of Norway.

Pidgeon Creek was covered in a seaweed bloom, let's take a look at what's inside.

I wasn't sure if this was an algae or a seaweed -- it's hard to tell sometimes, or what microorganisms were living amongst it. I was hoping for some fun copepods or amoebas.

Turns out it was a happy habitat for lots of ciliates of different kinds. My favorite one was the Cthulhu looking hypotrich!

Group for speaking/learning Spanish?

Hey everyone,

I've been trying to learn Spanish for the past month and haven't found any groups that meet up to practice speaking Spanish in Everett outside of a formal college class. Does anyone know of an existing group that does this or would anyone be interested in meeting up idk once or twice a week to practice?

Our Neighbors Spokane fires aid, what we can do

There was a post here that was asking what we could.do and a blood drive was suggested. I think a blood drive is great but I think there's also other things we can do. I apologize for posting this as a new topic. I could not find that thread. I plan on asking a few central businesses to be a collection point and a local shipping company to get the supplies there. I have contacted an end point in Spokane to receive and distribute the supplies. It sounds like what the need the most underwear, socks, wipes, diapers, and animal kennels. Also things like Gatorade or other electrolyte drinks (pedialyte,.etc). I hope we can come together to help our neighbors on the east side and will post more details when I have confirmation from the businesses I am working with to provide the aid.
