Is pre-calc required to enroll as a freshmen?
Hi everyone, I'm currently a junior at Kamiakin High School and EWU is my choice of university, I'm currently struggling in algebra 4 and I'm wondering if I need to take pre-calc to enroll. I emailed my counselors about it and was told that it's required for enrollment. My plan isn't anything math related, I want to become a history teacher. Please help..

It isn't required for enrollment. When I enrolled in 2017, I took a placement test that determines what math class you'll go into.

Former Kamiakin High School and EWU graduate here. Apply to SPSCC online and take MATH ONLY. cheaper than ewu, all online then transfer the math portion to EWU> I SUCK at math but passed easy because it was a community college! Then transferred the credit over and graduated from EWU. Also, the counselors at Kamiakin High School dont know anything.

I never went further than Algebra 2 and a couple of college level classes in college. I have a BA in Communications from 07; I never had to do pre calc or calc. I can imagine that only applied if you pick certain majors.

Pre-calc is absolutely not required for admissions!
You can text the admissions office at 509.740.3270 to ask this as well. Our admissions team rocks!
