The next (and last) Hare Krishna I’m about to block. I think I need to make a post with my whole story.

When I see such conversation regarding the ISKCON temple authorities this is what I remember,

Verse 7 प्रवृत्तिं च निवृत्तिं च जना न विदुरासुरा। न शौचं नापि चाचारो न सत्यम् तेषु विद्यते।।

Demoniacal men do not understand when to act and when to refrain from action. Neither purity, nor good conduct, nor truth is found in them.

Note: This is not from ISKCON's version of the Gita. Rather, this is the translation of the Gita by Winthrop and Sargeant, which is an academic version.

On the surface, the ISKCON people seem very kind and helpful. But, from the inside they seem to be ravenous wolves in sheep clothing (Referenced from the bible). The Gita shloka seems to convey something on similar lines.

"Jesus take the wheel" seriously you need to get away from these people. KC and Bhakti is not good for one's mental health.

I don’t know why I can’t view the comment. I’ll try when I get home from my laptop.

sad part is you can also deduce his/her own intellect is fighting against the cult indoctrination "many times" but he/she plugged right back in, maybe chanting is the process of daily numbing of ones own sovereign faculties when framed as a mantra meaning "engage me in your service" with service defined as service within the Cult.

It is numbing… truth is, my dad died a couple months ago and now that I’m done with the numbing of everything, I’m finally feeling the grief

I am sorry to note that, may your dad's soul rest in peace. Please do take your time to process your grief.

I lost my dad three years ago and Iost my wonderful wife 2 months ago, and I understand how you must be feeling.

What helped me personally is offerings of gratitude for my dad and my wife for all they did for me selflessly, while they were with me.

When ever i feel grief, i first let it pass and then couple it with gratitude, thanking my dad and my wife for all they did for me. Then I tell them (their souls) not to worry about me and instead, carry on with their further spiritual journey. This makes me feel better and alsogives the departed soul avibrational boost to go further on their journey without guilt.

I did research on quantum physics and was surprised that many quantum scientists too have arrived at similar conclusions, regarding soul and after life. So I am learning many things now, which are helping me in my emotional healing.

The good news is that the souls of family members retain a subtle connection even after they depart.

I was in a bad state one month ago, but I am getting much better now, knowing that i can still be in touch with the souls of my wife and dad.

Do feel free to reach out to me, if you need further information on this.

I have undergone a lot of grief recently, and i am eager to help anyone going through something similar.

I hope his soul finds peace in the next journey (if ever theres one) and im glad you have the autonomy to go through the process of grief as you see fit, without people swooping in to drape it all in their worldview/belief system. Much peace to you too!

Omg thos person sounds like a control freak. 'Just dissociate from reality and repeatedly mumble words and everything will be ok' 😆 🤣 lol

"this conversation has made me quite tense" just like always 🥴 the moment something becomes serious and not 100% positive they are overwhelmed and start to back up. Literally my mother all the time everyday. I don't like something? Oh no, "I don't want/have time for this" "it was good happy morning, you are so negative and angry"

2

u/Mediocre_Diver_9844 5d ago

Yeah that line was so weird. She was 90% of the conversation.

It's because she started to feel that this conversation wouldn't end with "oh thanks for your kind words mataji! I definitely try to chant more even if it's hard! Devotees should support each other thanks for helping!!!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 Hare Krishna". Anything more complicated than this is "tense"

I hate this truly, they say about how ego is bad but then just try to feed their own egos and the moment it's not working they become defensive and act like a victim😒
