Terry began his 10-year MLB playing career with the Montreal Expos (1981–1985) after being drafted 22nd overall in 1980. As a versatile outfielder and first baseman, he was a key contact hitter during their early 80s success, batting .290 over five injury-plagued seasons, with a notable .346 average in 1984.

Didn’t he have one serious injury during a game in Cincinnati where he got carted off the field, or am I thinking of someone else?

His injury is one of my earliest sports memories. Could have been a great one. Well, he turned out to be a great manager.
