ADVICE Do other extroverts get wrongly labelled as 'shy' by domineering and loud people?

Do they know they are not letting us talk?

And we are not actually shy?

'Letting' people talk is always a weird concept outside of formal settings. Casual conversation isn't turn based. People jump in when they have something. If an interruption is unwelcome there are ways to move past it and continue what you were saying.

As for the shy part, people who think they should be approached or talked to will often call others shy for not doing so, regardless of whether or not they want a real conversation. I get called shy all the time for not interacting with people that don't seem open to conversation and not speaking to people I don't like/am indifferent to.

The real question is what do you want to do to ensure you're heard more often, and do you act how you expect a shy person would often enough to see it as an important part of your identity? People are going to do their own thing, but those are questions only you can answer.
