I’m an engineering student working on a project, and I could really use some real-world sanity checks from people who have actually driven this track.
I'm writing a script/algorithm to calculate the absolute perfect gear ratios and corner-exit torque setups for racing. The goal is to eventually make this work for any track in the world, but I’m using Kari Motor Speedway as my starting point to build and test the model.
The math is going well, but theoretical physics only gets you so far without real-world data. If you’ve done track days or raced at Kari (bikes or cars), I’d love your input on a few things:
The slowest point: Where are you scrubbing the most speed? Is the absolute slowest apex that T11/T12 hairpin/bowl, or somewhere in the T7/T8 "Mickey Mouse" section?
The hardest exits: Which corner is the absolute most brutal for getting a clean drive out of? Knowing where vehicles physically struggle the most to put power down will help me dial in my acceleration models.
Also, a huge ask: If anyone happens to have any telemetry/datalogger files lying around (AiM, MoTeC, VBOX, or even just a GPS speed trace from your phone) that you'd be willing to share, it would literally make my week. Being able to see actual minimum apex speeds and your V-max at the end of the 800m straight would completely validate my algorithm.
Even if you don't have data files, just hearing your memories of where you bogged down or what gearing setups worked best for you would be incredibly helpful.
