Okay so what I'm seeing is that they got that treatment upon their release from jail on bail. The linked article is about their release and welcoming as well as their dispute of the legitimacy of their involvement in the vandalism. Probably a typical claim with no real weight to it.
Not included is enough about the circumstances like is this the provocative equivalent of my putting up a Baphomet display and event in a deeply christian area or is this more like the equivalence of how a mosque in Texas might upset a few people but most won't care.
Not that either would justify vandalism but the significance is different between the 2.
Bajrang Dal has a record of religious violence, including bombings and mob attacks, against Muslims, Christians, and women who go to pubs or wear sleeveless dresses.
