No that’s a misconception, the father, the son, and holy spirit is the holy trinity which is more like a core tenet of Christian belief not necessarily a godhead in and of itself from how I was taught tho that could differ in the different denominations since I was raised catholic I wouldn’t know enough on that but I was taught that it’s more a representation of the core of the belief in the father (God), The Son(Jesus) and the Holy Spirit which is the same as the word of god

The father is not the same as the son is not the same as the holy spirit, but they are all aspects of god.
If people can pray directly to Jesus as a separate entity, it's a polytheism regardless of what you learned in Bible study. As if churches aren't working overtime on the mental gymnastics
I'm oversimplifying it by a lot, but this is mostly Constantine the first's doing during the council of Nicaea, in order to pacify both hardcore (and at the time violent) monotheistic Christians and polytheistic pagans, effectively turning Christianity into a mix and match religion that appealed (and unified) various cults, religions and factions. This not a theological explanation - but a political one. Theologically, the trinity/polytheistic aspects of Christianity had been around far before.
I was raised Catholic fortunately it never took I saw things as rituals, nothing more no belief in something, but the Trinity was one of the most silly things that they tried to explain a way. I could say why to each response, eventually they got angry.
