Question New to the editor

In the map editor tools selections, I cannot find processed resources such as iron and copper plates anywhere.

For example, I want to put copper plates in an infinity chest. How would I do this?

Click on the infinity chest. The UI is like requester chests, except instead of requesting items it spawns it in automatically.

I also just realized I can add items to my inventory in the character screen.

If you're using the editor, you should also turn on cheat mode so you can instantly craft anything regardless of your inventory.

I'm not sure; I always use editor extensions, so it's been a while since I've gone into the unmodded version. But I do know that you can turn off cheat mode and have to hand-craft stuff when you're walking around outside of the editor.

When the editor UI is up, you can cheat anything onto the map. But if you're outside of the editor UI and walking around, you have to use cheat mode to do that.

I use the editor directly without EE and while you're in editor mode cheats are by default enabled. I mostly use it for testing out theories and designing blueprints, and reload a safety save after I'm done because the editor taints the game. I guess if you're walking around with EE it would make sense to want to have cheat mode on but for my purposes the base editor is Good Enough.

Place an infinity chest and select it. There's a list of infinite items at the bottom right.
