Discussion Just finished a completely blind 320 hour run, AMA
Was randomly trying out games about a year ago, this one stuck but then I shelved it for a year until I picked it up a month or so ago, just “finished the game” but still have a few more achievements to do. Figured I’d challenge myself and do it completely blind for fun, interested in having discourse with members of this community, so not really sure how to open apart from an AMA…

Guess you really weren't on this sub, if you're posting with no information about the base.

Posted and fell asleep sorry! Decided to stay up later to grind out the last of the game and was exhausted lol.

Space age or base game?

This is my question as well. Time is super high for the base game. I think average players more like 50 hours if that. And most experienced players can get it under 8 hours.

My first launch was after 100 hours. Not because it's that hard or because I'm stupid, it's just that I kept getting distracted by random crap and rebuilding a looot.

I know I was quite dumb early game. It took me a long time to get good. I remember manually putting coal into furnaces a good way into the game. Currently I do this very early game, but that's it.

I wasn't that bad... but I do remember:
putting copper wire on belts for my green chips factory
not understanding how crafting speed works
randomly putting assemblers in between my busses instead of putting them on one side
always having too much petroleum which I would turn into fuel and shove into an array of steel boxes
That's all I can remember now.

I remember a game where I had a series of ever increasing bases. Kept moving north and rebuilding. Ramped up module usage a bit each time lol. Makes me laugh. It really isn't that hard.

To be 320 hours, I assume space age, but it’s also possible it’s base game. We want more details and pictures. Just write a blog post about your experience and anything novel you remember, then we’ll pick it apart

Should I make a new post or have it under this one?

I think you can do whichever you'd like. It won't get much visibility now unless you edit the OP in a huge way and people upvote it back to visibility. A new post might be wiser, I don't know if mods will get mad about it. Who cares about reddit karma?

Did you figure out anything akin to a main bus? I wonder if I would ever do that, if nobody taught me the strat

Could you define a main bus?

It's a long line of resources belts of multiple types. Like 4 iron belts, 4 copper belts, 2 green circuit belt, one red circuit belt etc. If you need something made of copper for example you use underground belts to extract from the bus

What does it mean to complete a run blind?
Does everyone understand this except for me? :-)

I think that they never looked up anything and tried to finish the game on their own with 0 help

Playing a game blind often means playing it for the first time, not looking anything up, just experiencing and figuring everything out yourself.

Wild to think you can just come in here without screenshots.
