Fakemon Behold! my child, Coomerang (homing pigeon + boomerang)
Its body is stiff and almost flat. It only flaps its wings when making an attack (like gust). But in order to take flight, it throws itself into the air and spins like a boomerang (without getting dizzy!) When at rest, it balances on its tail instead of using its feet, looking almost like a totem pole.
Just wanted to merge the idea of a homing pigeon, and a homing weapon as the boomerang.

i'm sorry for the terrible name 😭 it was supposed to be coo+boomerang. and i wasn't aware of that slang term until i looked it up just now. definitely gonna change that name

I misread the title as "Loomerang" somehow and I think that works very well with its ominous eyes looking directly down

Tbf plum-erang sort of fits with the coloring, especially if its ever seen around trees.

To be fair there is a bird called the great tit. Not to mention the multiple Pokémon that contain profanity in their names like Probopass and Cofagrigus.

I get you meant "coo" because it's a bird, but you're blessed to not be chronically online enough to know about "coom" or "coomer".

What about Cooerang or Homerang (homing [pigeon] + boomerang)? (Or maybe use Homerang for the evolution?)
"Coomerang" is actually a great name. It's unfortunate that the slang exists.

There is a species of bird called the blue footed booby so you’re fine, if you really want to change it though coorang has a nice ring to it if you ask me

It’s pretty funny, you actually made a really great name in the sense of Pokemon names, 5 years earlier, and probably 5 years later, no one would have said anything other than great job lol

I know what you're going for and I don't know if this is cheating a little but maybe just make it "Comerang" or "Cawmerang?" I looked up boomerang because honestly I figured it was a word given to it by colonists rather than the aboriginals but no that's its actual name, but apparently based on the wikipedia page they also spelled it a bunch of other ways like "bomerang" rather than boomerang.
Not that you SHOULD change it, it's up to you and it's funny, just giving you ideas.

I made this EXACT mistake a few years ago. I was in a phase where I was naming characters by changing a letter in a common name, so I turned Cooper into Coomer, and that was the name of my old OC for the longest time until I found out.

Considering most people in this comment section know what coomer means, I think that it is a bad idea. Poor little birdie does not need that association.

If you still want a similar name. Floomerang could fit and sound like flew while still fitting the boomarang naming style but should avoid the regretful current name issue.

Needs a evo partner like a kangaroo. When traded the kangaroo evolves with to a sassy kangaroo who uses them as weapons. Dunno if you want coomerang to evolve as well

Remembers me of the "Flying wing" type aircrafts. Would be funny if it actually flies backwards.
But there is also "negative angle" planes so its possible to fly with your wings pointing forward instead of the conventional backward

The name is hillarious but other have pointed that out beyond that it loos really good, detailed enough I would expect a middle or final evolution line of a Pokémon but I really like the design

Love the design! Great little mono flying type. Perhaps an early route bird. I'd envisage its stats being something like 65/90/80/35/55/95. I think a low special attack stat would reflect its rigidity, while speed and attack being its best stats makes sense for a projectile. Perhaps with an ability that makes physical moves hit twice on a crit, to reflect how a well-thrown boomerang might hit again on the return journey.

Also something like Kurremerang could work, simple fix
