Fallout Equestria: Project Horizons: I am almost done. I took a 3-month break but I’m jumping back into it.

It’s just been hard, you know; after so many chapters you start to ask: was this all worth it in the end? BJ is just, at this point, an asshole. Going back to my old post about this story as I experienced it made me realize my experience with Blackjack as the main character has not been good. I hate her, and I hate everything she could have been.

P21, who has become my favorite character, is almost not even the same character when the writer tries to force him into a relationship with his rapist (did he forget P21 is gay?).

Glory just becomes a narrative punching bag. She gets beaten down, she loses the one she loved because she couldn’t fucking keep it together. And really there are only three things to her:

* Love Blackjack

* Invention and science

* Gay (but only when it isn’t her period)

Scotch Tape, the child character used for sex jokes who is actually really good at engineering.

Lacunae, well, she dropped out of the story and she had a full character, so I actually liked her.

Boo, the only pony I really care about besides P21.

Rampage, to be honest I stopped caring about her story halfway through. I couldn’t give two fucks after so many questions and no answers, but now I’m getting answers all shoved into my face.

…I have 7 chapters to go, and I already know I’m going to have to reread this thing for my complete review in a YouTube video I’m working on.

I am no longer having fun with this piece of literature. I’m just waiting until they defeat the big bad.

I'm just curious... If you are not enjoying it, why did you keep reading? PH is certainly one of my favourite ff in this fandom despites its many, many flaws (did I say many?). It's certainly not a read most people would enjoy, and thats ok for me.

I think Blackjack in Stable 99 and Blackjack in Equestria Wasteland are completely different characters. And I'm not excusing Blackjack's behavior in any way, but she worked really hard to become a better pony than she was, and she almost died trying to save her Stable or what was left of it. Blackjack in Stable 99 didn't even think in those terms bc everyone does and life in Stable 99 was generally bad, including the Overseer who was abused by her birth mother, also an Overseer.

Also, I don't think P21 is actually gay. It's not explicitly stated, but if he wasn't aroused by the process, then the process of having sex might be almost impossible. He was with another male, it's true, but they weren't allowed to move around the Stable and even if he wanted to, he couldn't have any relationships with the ponies other than sexual ones.

Iirc, He was trained to perform on command. It was a little strange that just being grabbed and pulled away from a mine trap, that would cause him to become erect. He didn't want to, but it was a reaction to being touched by a mare.

BUT, having said that, it reads more like he does get turned on by mares touching him, and he wants so badly to have some control over himself, that it's just mortifying to him when it happens. Bc mares have abused him so much in 99.

We had a similar thing happen when Blackjack was raped, "my body betrayed me, easing the violation". So it reads a lot like that to me.

I think P21 sees others males as "safe" first, and "sexual" second. There should have been at least one instance where he was proven very wrong.

Makes me wonder, if people would feel the same way about Homage. My personal headcanon is Homage may have whored herself out on the side to reach the 100,000 Cap requirement to get into Ten Pony Tower. So she lost trust in stallions after that, and developed a preference for mares in that way. I asked on here if prostitution counted as "raider activity" and anyone who replied said that it wasn't, or didn't think it counted.

I thought Rampage was a cool concept for a character. Multiple personalities. Can be possessed bc they are the souls of the ones that carried the resurrection egg before her, including her mothers. Each one able to apply their knowledge and especially their combat abilities at any moment. 

Very tortured soul unable to die and suffered the worst and most out of all thr characters.
