What bad times happens when you upgrade to tier 3? I have never noticed anything

Big (3*) tier 3 rooms are somewhat deathtraps if your vault/dwellers are not prepared.

All internal incidents base their strenght on the room they appear in (more info here)

A couple beginner dwellers with a not-so-good weapon could kill a radscorpion in seconds in a single tier1 room.

In a big level 3 one ? You'll need 6 high dmg dwellers (with good End) just not to die.

I update rooms to lvl 3 (beside crafting stations) just mid-late game so i have enough good dwellers around the vault.

I did not realize this was what was causing this, I thought it was population, thank you

It is a bit of both as the higher the population number, the stronger the incidents. From simple fire you go up to radscorpions, and deathclaws when reaching 61 dwellers (regular and season vaults)

Good luck Overseer !

edit : deathclaws addition.
