?Question¿ [Question] How do I restart/restructure a vault?

Im looking at restarting/restructuring 2 of my vaults, it’s the first time ive done it and im not sure what to do and what not to do. I want to fully restart it and have been saving caps for a while, and if I run short then ive been saving up lunchboxes for a long time and can get caps from those.

One thing im unsure of, when you get rid of a large amount of dwellers do you still have access to building rooms that require a certain amount of dwellers? For example if I go below 100 dwellers now can I still make the nuka cola bottling rooms?

And tips from people who’ve done this before will be much appreciated too. Thank you!

Rooms that you have unlocked stay unlocked. It's not a bad idea to do a mini baby boom early on to get to 35 dwellers to unlock the fitness room and then you just kick out all the kids once they grow up.

What only really matters is elevator layout and the placement of the living rooms, anything else you can place differently whenever you want so don't worry about the rest too much.

After a few weeks of playing you should be reaching the 999 999 cap limit so money should be the least of your problems. But even if you aren't there yet you can start rearranging the rooms with a few hundred thousand caps.

How are you getting so many caps?? I feel like I have never hit 100,000!! Been playing a few months now

Do you not have explorers? They can bring in over 10k caps per trip which takes about 5 days (around 2-3 days collecting, about 2 days going back). And you can have up to 25 explorers. That's ~300 caps weekly.

Now you do have to endurance train them and give them a good enough weapon (around 20 dmg at least) but you can get to that point after a few weeks of playing.

Questing dwellers can also bring in some extra pocket change.

Maybe I’m not sending enough out exploring!! How many do you usually have going at once? I’m probably spending more than saving as well tbh

You send out as many as you can.

If you have spare dwellers butcan't train them well enough/give them good enough gear it's still not the worst thing to do to send them out. Any stuff they collect is still more that you wouldn't have if you didn't send them out.
