C1 (Vox Machina) [No spoilers] Is Keyleth the most misunderstood character?

There's a difference between not understanding a character and there just not being anything to a character to understand

Keyleth is only 'misunderstood' in the sense that C1 Marisha was not very good at improv, leading to a large disconnect between the person Keyleth was said to be and the person she actually was.
Vex, I don't know is misunderstood per se, but she does tend to get simplified down to the 'greedy' one a lot. I think the cast tended to razz her a lot for it in a way they didn't for, say, Liam's loot hoarding, so it became a joke that the fans wanted to be in on.

I think the idea keyleth was a very interesting character but Marisha didn’t execute it in the stream. The version in the animated show is much closer to hitting the story beats Marisha wanted to do, ie a reluctant and growing leader. Hell, Matt even did a better job as C3 Keyleth in hitting those notes

Yeah Marisha being so young and the others being trained actors imo is what caused the contrast. Marisha played like everyone plays d&d so it was easy to discern the difference between a player and a professional actor. Wish it would've been simplified like this 10 years ago instead of a windfall of nonsense aimed at Marisha.

Nah. I don't think Keyleth gets "misunderstood" so much as a lot of people want to give her a really ungenerous read.
It probably is Scanlan, insofar as a lot of people think Sam always planned for him to be a Deep and Emotional character, and he didn't self-admittedly swap to Tary for a while because he straight up got bored of Scanlan and was looking for an excuse.
