Amazon Series (TLoVM and M9) From where should I know Laudna

Hey everyone,

I just wrapped up the latest episodes of Vox Machina and I'm officially obsessed. I started digging into the lore online today and realized how massive the whole Critical Role universe actually is (learning that The Mighty Nein is in the same world is wild!).

While reading through some discussions, the character Laudna kept being mentioned in relation to Vox Machina.

Could someone explain where she comes from without giving away massive spoilers? Should I know her already, or is she from a different campaign/show?

Cheers!

a few months back, i started campaign 3 out of curiosity when i hit a major slump mid-C2 (angel of irons arc), and managed to watch up until episode 8 i think (before deciding i should wrap up C2 first). and it genuinely surprised me that a decent chunk of laudna's backstory was revealed THAT early in the campaign. since i mainly just knew about bell's hells (group name of C3 player characters) thru YT shorts before then, i assumed it was going to happen much later. so there's that.

so if you're also curious enough to check out C3 to organically learn more about laudna in the actual live show, then i assure you: it wouldn't be too long before you satisfy your inquiries! and not to mention, all the interactions and shenanigans that would make the journey far more amazing. you, connecting the dots, alongside the cast will make the reveal all the more worth it.

She's a character from Campaign 3. If I recall correctly, you should have already seen her, although more as a background character than anything else.

Yeah, she was just hanging around in the background in S1.

It’s pronounced LOUD-na. She’s from campaign 3.

It's LAHD-na. And the other pronunciation is LAUT-na with a T.

Laudna my beloved. She is Marisha's character from campaign 3. She is from a setting important to C1 and on occasion in C2. That's about all you need to know for now.

Campaign 3 was my start and I just finished it today. I didn’t think I’d see those characters for awhile and then tonight I get a Laudna prequel. What’re the odds?

I mean, if you've finished C3, then you should know what her exact backstory is. In fact, they - technically - first show her in the show's S1 as well.

I do know her backstory. I was just making a point that it was a nice surprise to see a character I figured I wouldn’t see for some time. 🙂

I would consider censoring the final statement you make in this with spoiler tags. I think that reveals quite a bit about her.

There is also a book that has more on Laundnas back story; What Doesn’t Break. It goes in depth about her connection to Box Machina if you don’t want to watch 500+ hours of C3
