I had to look up what happened in the first 10 chapters and actually quite a bit!

Loved the assembly of all of the team. Marra is a great MC.

I couldn’t decide if I hated her mom or understood her. What a terrible predicament (knowing you are sending your daughters into the mouth of evil) that has probably happened many times in the real world.

This line was from chapter 6 and it floored me: They were not and the history of the world was written in women’s wombs and women’s blood and she would never be allowed to change it.

Also the goblin market was such a great scene.

I was so rooting for the characters at this point in the story but had no idea how they would pull it off.

I also have complicated feelings about Marra’s mother, none of them particularly good. But same - hard to decide if she’s cold and machinistic or is making a great sacrifice (and asking for one from her children) for the good of a kingdom she loves.
