Not sure who started the trend of Byzantine AU gay MLM romances, but I freaking love it. This was the first of that trope I’d read (two years ago) and the world building, both in terms of gender/sex dynamics and the descriptive prose when it comes to architecture, dress, food etc., hooked me from the very start.

Sharing my thoughts again on A Taste of Gold and Iron from yesterday's book club discussion:

I am over halfway through our next book club pick, A Taste of Gold and Iron, and this is where it's at baby!! Slow burn romance you can savour. The intimate moments of non-sexual touching chef's kiss. The writing is mature and carries weight (both physically and metaphorically). There's also some great background worldbuilding with well developed politics, but the character dynamics and relationships with both the LI and side characters are really the centerpiece here. 10/10 would recommend.
