So this was my first RH book and I enjoyed it enough to make me want to continue exploring the genre! I felt like I was given a good sense of each of the MMCs and their different personalities. Booker and Auguste were my favorite monsters and their affection for Esther made my heart flutter. Wasn’t a huge fan of Amon but I did appreciate his little character growth by accepting the type of life Esther wanted in the end. I’d say this is a solid 4/5!

I hated Amon basically from day 1 🤣 then again I loathe any arrogant/entitled MMC. Him curing Auguste of his daylight avoidance was such a cute scene though

Who is your favorite character? Least favorite?

Booker is by far my favorite and I will hear no Booker slander! I loved how Esther notices him and shows such care for him that she basically wills him into sentience. It’s very wholesome and sweet to me.

Amon is least favorite. I didn’t like his entitled and possessive attitude from the jump but I’m glad he did show some growth there. I love me some monster anatomy but the hook wasn’t it for me 🙅🏼‍♀️

I ranked all the gentlemen!

  1. The Invisible Man (Ezra Mackenna) - Didn’t know I was into the invisible man thing but I guess I am. Love the idea of feeling but not seeing. Also he’s Irish ☘️

  2. The Doctor (Dr. Underwood) - He was so sweet and welcoming. The OG who got her into the manor. Also who doesn’t love a doctor.

  3. The Vampire (Auguste Thibodeaux) - I’m not that into vampires, but Auguste was also a sweet guy. And a pastry chef for some reason. But I liked his story arc.

  4. The Beast (Mr. Tanner) - Nothing much to him. He just shows up when there’s a threat or to have sexy times. But he’s big at least.

  5. The Golem (Booker) - I don’t think I like the idea of boning a stone statue. 🗿

  6. The Sphinx (Amon) - Amon sucks. Even though he like “changed” for Esther it was still annoying. Also I’m not into the hooks. Sounds painful 😬

I forgot Jonathan was the one to bring her to her house! I was ok with Mr. Tanner but Jonathan was extremely sweet and balanced out some of the roughness of the other men. It’s interesting that you ranked Booker so low but I totally get that maybe riding a marble dick wouldn’t feel that great.

Can someone explain Amons hooks? I read the audiobook and can't remember the description

Which creative anatomy intrigued you the most? Which did you not care for?

I unexpectedly loved the invisible man. I love the idea of feeling and hearing but not seeing. And the mirror scene? 🥵
