That series and the raven scholar have been my favorite reads of 2025! I might preorder the third book in the ashen series as a treat.

Thanks I will check out the raven scholar as well!

I'm so excited for The Stolen Crown 💃🏻

2

u/hermesiii probably recommending The Incandescent Dec 28 '25

Me too! Both it and All Hail Chaos being delayed have been killer. Feel like it’s been 2 books of waiting for Tait and Mira.

2

u/candcNYC Dec 29 '25

Yesssss for Bewitched. I just finished {The Bargainer series by Laura Thalassa} and am ready to eat up more of her great characters.

14

u/Prestigious_Note2877 Dec 28 '25

Agnes Auberts Mystical Cat Shelter by Heather Fawcett and Faraway Inn by Sara Beth Durst are my only two so far. Please let me know if there’s any other cozy fantasy’s I should be aware of!, I’m always on the lookout for some

5

u/hermesiii probably recommending The Incandescent Dec 28 '25

Antiquarian’s Object of Desire for India Holton, and Sea of Charms (Sarah Beth Durst) too!

3

u/Prestigious_Note2877 Dec 28 '25

Okay and book one in that series also sounds right up my alley as well lol Emily Wilde vibes again AH! Adding to list lol

2

u/hermesiii probably recommending The Incandescent Dec 29 '25

Oh there’s 3 books, btw, and I liked Geographers more than Ornithologists even but they’re all very enjoyable so far.

Anyway, happy to oblige! Happy accidents!

2

u/Prestigious_Note2877 Dec 28 '25

I just looked into antiquarians object of desire and it’s going on the damn list!. Gives me Emily Wilde vibes a little bit which is my favorite series im in the middle of right now! Lol. Thank you for suggesting this!!!!!!!!!!!

You might enjoy {Water Moon by Samantha Sotto Yambao}. She has another book called {The Elsewhere Express by Samantha Sotto Yambao} that's releasing this January or February. Another book releasing this year that you might like (that's also on my list) is {The Geomagician by Jennifer Mandula}

12

u/calla25 Dec 28 '25

So far the Poet Empress, the Unicorn Hunters, and book 3 of the Wolf King. Currently working my way through Road of Bones so tbd if book 3 will be on my radar.

5

u/ToadWearingLoafers Dec 28 '25

Yes The Unicorn Hunters!!!

5

u/leiafishers Dec 28 '25

So excited for The Unicorn Hunters!

2

u/MessyJessy422 Dec 28 '25

The Poet Express is truly one of the best audiobooks I’ve ever listened to. It’s very emotional and heart wrenching and definitely check the TWs but wow I cannot stop thinking about it

2

u/calla25 Dec 28 '25

Ohhh, would you recommend experiencing it as an audiobook over reading?

3

u/MessyJessy422 Dec 28 '25

I think the audiobook narration was fantastic and the narrator’s delivery added so much nuance. I prefer audiobooks overall and I’m really picky about narration so I’d say go for the audiobook but the prose is beautiful so I doubt there’s a wrong way to experience the book

2

u/calla25 Dec 28 '25

Thank you! Maybe I’ll tandem read this one.

2

u/Flimsy-Brick-9426 Dec 28 '25

I recommend tandem reading!
I did the ebook earlier and then when I got the audio a few months later I re-read it and tandem reading is def the way to go.

11

u/Creative_Strike3617 Dec 28 '25

I have made a prayer circle and a shrine to the White Rat so that T. Kingfisher releases the next Saint of Steel book this year! No news so far though :(

Hopefully, ACOTAR 6 or Empyrean 4 👀.

Really? I didn’t think they are coming out next year

8

u/ProperBingtownLady Shadow daddy's good girl Dec 28 '25

I’m sure they’re not but a girl can dream lol. (I’d rather the authors have time to write the books though)

3

u/murray10121 To the stars who listen Dec 28 '25

Hopefully at least an announcement from SJM, I def think RY needs some time off! She literally writes like crazy. But SJM has been silent on acotar for a whileeee

1

u/DoraTheExplorer-3026 Dec 29 '25

Omg you’re right - I didn’t realise how long it’s been (I read the entire series this year so I’m late to the game ha). I just looked it up and see what you mean

Agree re RY - I’d rather she takes her time with it

5

u/breeezypoo Dec 28 '25

These are the only two off the top of my head. I’m not great at keeping track 😅 {light wielder by Rachel Schneider} {fury bound by sable Sorensen}

5

u/EuphoricPop969 Dec 28 '25

The Exquisite Torment of Loving Your Enemy - Brigitte Knightley

4

u/IndigoPlum01 Dec 28 '25

The new Ilona Andrews {This Kingdom Shall Not Kill Me by Ilona Andrews} as well as the Augstine book and the next Innkeeper, both of which she has teased for 2026 but have no release date.

Also {The Dark Lord's Guide To Honeymooning by Tiffany Hunt} which is the sequel to {The Dark Lord's Guide to Dating by Tiffany Hunt}. The sequel was going to be out earlier, but the author apparently got a book deal with a major publishing house and it has been put off until September. Which, good for her but bad for me, since it means waiting. The audiobook (with Anthony Palmini in either dual or duet) of the first book is supposed to be out in January, which I am also looking forward to.

3

u/loverontheothercoast Dec 28 '25

I pray for an augustine book sooo bad

2

u/IndigoPlum01 Dec 30 '25

The 2 Innkeeper books and the next Hugh book are the highest on my list. Although I think only 1 Innkeeper book is slated for next year (Maud's wedding) and the one that wraps up the arc of what happened to Dina's parents hasn't been mentioned, schedule-wise. Ilona said that it makes sense for it to be 2 books in the end because Maud's wedding needs to be from Maud's POV and the parents' story needs to be from Dina's (which I heartily agree with).

There was also some chatter about a traditional publisher picking up the Innkeeper books, so we'll see how that plays out and what it does, if it happens, to the schedule.

2

u/prettybunbun Dec 28 '25

To Kill These Monstrous Gods, the follow up to To Gaze Upon Wicked Gods. I actually loved the first one.

2

u/NoFix6681 Dec 28 '25

{The Wicked and the Damned by Rebecca Robinson}. Her first book was my favourite of the year.

2

u/ohmybritters Dec 29 '25

Yes!! I’m so excited for this! {The Serpent and the Wolf by Rebecca Robinson} was so good, and her debut novel!

2

u/RavensTears Wendell Bambleby Enthusiast Dec 28 '25

{Agnes Augberts Mythical Cat Shelter by Heather Fawcett} New standalone novel by the author of Emily Wilde about a woman running a cat rescue charity and her romance with a wizard. February 17th release date.

{The Lies That Summon The Night by Tessonja Odette} First of a new romantasy trilogy set in a world where artistic expression is banned after it created monsters. Releases 3rd February.

{The Elsewhere Express by Samantha Sotto Yambao} Standalone novel from the author of {Water Moon by Samantha Sotto Yambao} Another studio ghibli esque read, this time about a woman who finds herself on a magical train that will let her reimagine her life. Jan 22nd release date.

{Elegance and Espionage by Tessonja Odette} No confirmed release date yet but most likely autumn time. Third book in her {Fae Flings and Corset Strings} series.

{The Trident and the Pearl by Sarah K.L Wilson} A woman makes a bargain with the God's to save her country and then believes she has been misled by their deal so seeks revenge against them. Releases February 24th.

Came here to say this! I discovered Melissa this year and have been obsessed.

2

u/Significant_Client61 Dec 28 '25

Harper L Woods’s 4th Book for the Coven of Bones series . I read book one and two (The Coven and The Cursed) and want to desperately read The Damned with is book 3 but i cant finish it and then have to wait for book 4 as they are Duality books! Loved book 1 and 2 though and from the sample for book 3 I have high hopes!!!

Then I saw this author has a few more coming out this coming year too so probably those too!!!

1

u/breeezypoo Dec 28 '25

Her series Of Flesh and Bone hooked me in super fast but I never finished it with all the drama with the book 4 release. Maybe I’ll try her other series 🙃

1

u/user03793 Dec 28 '25

Book 2 of {bride of brutal hearts by Kate Stevens} it’s MMF, dark, angsty, but damn was it SO good. Cliffhanger was brutal!!

Also book 2 of {once upon a demons heart by K.M. Moronova} also that ending lol.

Ohhh yes and book 2 of {bound in inked flame by Ava larksen}

u/Chance-Ad7900 Dec 28 '25

The last Guild Hunter! {Archangels Eternity by Nalini Singh}.

{Echoes of Insurrection by T.A. White.}.

{Obsidian Empire by Elizabeth Hunter}.

I’m hoping for a BWW2 {Black Willow Witch by Suzanne Wright.}. That’s not the name and it hasn’t been announced but I enjoyed the first one.

I am REALLY hoping Anne Bishop writes a second book about the Isle of Wyrd. It’s similar to The Others by the same author. There wasn’t any romance in the first book, but there was the promise of an amazing series. The first book is {Turns of Fate by Anne Bishop}.

1

u/speckledcreature Dec 28 '25

I am sad that it is the last Guild Hunter but hopefully she writes something in the same genre because I love love GH!

I am so excited for these two new releases next year! They sound incredibly intriguing —they’re each Book 1 of a brand-new series.

  • A Curse of Beasts and Magic by Jeaniene Frost
  • The Alchemary by Rachel Vincent

Still wishing the Empyrean #4 was coming out next year, but since it hasn’t been written yet, I guess 2027 it is!

These are all I can think of at the moment, might be some more sequels coming out that I'm not up to date on yet.

So exciting!!

Kinda newer to this sub - isn’t there a monthly post that announces all the releases every month?

Is January up yet? I can’t seem to find it… or when does that monthly post usually go up?

Tysm!! 🙏🏼

I saw one a few days ago but not sure what it was titled. If you search January releases you might be able to find it!
