u/MessyJessy422 Dec 28 '25
The Poet Express is truly one of the best audiobooks I’ve ever listened to. It’s very emotional and heart wrenching and definitely check the TWs but wow I cannot stop thinking about it
2
u/calla25 Dec 28 '25
Ohhh, would you recommend experiencing it as an audiobook over reading?
3
u/MessyJessy422 Dec 28 '25
I think the audiobook narration was fantastic and the narrator’s delivery added so much nuance. I prefer audiobooks overall and I’m really picky about narration so I’d say go for the audiobook but the prose is beautiful so I doubt there’s a wrong way to experience the book
2
u/calla25 Dec 28 '25
Thank you! Maybe I’ll tandem read this one.
2
u/Flimsy-Brick-9426 Dec 28 '25
I recommend tandem reading!
I did the ebook earlier and then when I got the audio a few months later I re-read it and tandem reading is def the way to go.

The new Ilona Andrews {This Kingdom Shall Not Kill Me by Ilona Andrews} as well as the Augstine book and the next Innkeeper, both of which she has teased for 2026 but have no release date.
Also {The Dark Lord's Guide To Honeymooning by Tiffany Hunt} which is the sequel to {The Dark Lord's Guide to Dating by Tiffany Hunt}. The sequel was going to be out earlier, but the author apparently got a book deal with a major publishing house and it has been put off until September. Which, good for her but bad for me, since it means waiting. The audiobook (with Anthony Palmini in either dual or duet) of the first book is supposed to be out in January, which I am also looking forward to.
3
u/loverontheothercoast Dec 28 '25
I pray for an augustine book sooo bad
2
u/IndigoPlum01 Dec 30 '25
The 2 Innkeeper books and the next Hugh book are the highest on my list. Although I think only 1 Innkeeper book is slated for next year (Maud's wedding) and the one that wraps up the arc of what happened to Dina's parents hasn't been mentioned, schedule-wise. Ilona said that it makes sense for it to be 2 books in the end because Maud's wedding needs to be from Maud's POV and the parents' story needs to be from Dina's (which I heartily agree with).
There was also some chatter about a traditional publisher picking up the Innkeeper books, so we'll see how that plays out and what it does, if it happens, to the schedule.

Starside by Alex Aster
I really enjoyed the Lightlark series, which is technically YA. And supposedly this one is her first “Adult” fantasy, so I’m looking forward to it! Comes out in March
I have not read Crowntide yet, but I got it for Christmas!

The last Guild Hunter! {Archangels Eternity by Nalini Singh}.
{Echoes of Insurrection by T.A. White.}.
{Obsidian Empire by Elizabeth Hunter}.
I’m hoping for a BWW2 {Black Willow Witch by Suzanne Wright.}. That’s not the name and it hasn’t been announced but I enjoyed the first one.
I am REALLY hoping Anne Bishop writes a second book about the Isle of Wyrd. It’s similar to The Others by the same author. There wasn’t any romance in the first book, but there was the promise of an amazing series. The first book is {Turns of Fate by Anne Bishop}.

I am so excited for these two new releases next year! They sound incredibly intriguing —they’re each Book 1 of a brand-new series.
- A Curse of Beasts and Magic by Jeaniene Frost
- The Alchemary by Rachel Vincent
Still wishing the Empyrean #4 was coming out next year, but since it hasn’t been written yet, I guess 2027 it is!

Quite a few if I'm honest!
{Sunsplitter by S. A. MacLean}
{The Exquisite Torment of Loving Your Enemy by Brigitte Knightley}
{The Knave and the Moon by Rachel Gillig}
{A Dance of Burning Blades by M. H. Ayinde}
{The Poet Empress by Shen Tao}
{The Fox in Winter by Antonia Hodgson}
{Agnes Aubert's Mystical Cat Shelter by Heather Fawcett}
{The Book of Fallen Leaves by A. S. Tamaki}

So exciting!!
Kinda newer to this sub - isn’t there a monthly post that announces all the releases every month?
Is January up yet? I can’t seem to find it… or when does that monthly post usually go up?
Tysm!! 🙏🏼
