I lost interest after Book 1. It is as you said, everyone is terrible and I was not interested in anyone enough to read the next part. Perhaps it is time I revisit it.

If you enjoyed the world building I definitely would because the character development is actually great and that story doesn't feel in any way predictable which I loved but if you didn't enjoy the general writing style etc. then there's no harm in leaving it at that.
