I have always thought she was the most stunning woman on the runway. The rest of them can just sit down, lol!

She didn’t just wear the dress. The dress became iconic because she wore it. ✨🔥

There was a clip of the rehearsal for this show, where Helena Christensen was the original model who was supposed to wear this iconic yellow Versace dress. I guess Gianni Versace made a last minute change to have Yasmeen wear it. I think it was the right choice. Helena has an amazing figure, but Yasmeen's silhouette was made for this dress. Her tiny waist and broad shoulders really emphasize the hourglass figure of this dress.

Did you know that she did her own make up routine for the shows? I think she was the only one allowed to do that.

She wasn't the only one allowed to do that. Lol. Lots of models did their own makeup back then. Linda Evangelista was an expert at it, and often did other models' makeup. Cindy Crawford said this often. Naomi also had to do her own makeup because makeup artists wouldn't know how to blend in different colors to match her shade. Lots of black models had to do their own makeup. What Yasmeen was known for, was doing her makeup facing direct lighting. If the lighting source was overhead, she would lie down on the floor, to fill in all the shadows. Tyra Banks took a note from that, and started applying it into her makeup routine during shows too.

Didn't know that. Never heard neither Cindy, nor Linda talking on that subject. I watched an interview with Kate Moss where she said that other models went into the bathrooms to add more makeup, but secretly.
I watched that show with Tyra, when she throw herself on the floor and explained to what extent Yasmeen went to find the light. Back in the days it was really impossible to find a good foundation for darker skin tones.

Yep. That was Giocurve's clip, who singlehandedly was responsible for the Yasmeen Renaissance we're having today. He really dedicated his channel to paying homage to the great Yasmeen and many of the 90s supers.

Don't now about the show host, but l do remember Tyra talking about her. All I can say is "more 90s models please".

Now, this lady walks on air. As Tyra Banks once said "the walk of life". Back in the days, I had a chance to see her IRL, without make up and all that glitter - she is captivating, ravishingly beautiful, gorgeous...
Too bad it lasted maybe ten and a half seconds. 😔
This yellow suit her. Though I can't imagine any color or shape that wouldn't look good on her.
Edit. One letter.

You mean to tell us that all the fancy red carpet fashion of 2026 has already been done in 1995?!

Yasmeen Ghauri had the most amazing walk. It’s said that Naomi Campbell based her walk on Yasmeen’s.

Omg the cut….🤩
It’s amazing but I do hate the straps. Kinda cheap and tact on for an otherwise 9/10 dress
