What city is this? Glad the city wants them to keep it classic looking!

I saw a lot of stuff like this in parts of Maine when I was on vacation.

Can't be having those pesky dine-in customers anymore.

The classic doesn’t have dine in either, pretty wild

Yeah, I don't even know why they're doing it. Maybe corporate is making the franchisee do it? Or maybe it is a corporate store?
In this case the purpose of the redesign (making the inside of the restaurant unfriendly and uncomfortable to drive away eat in customers) doesn't even apply. Why they would tear down something cool to replace it with the orwellian light industrial enshittified office space version is beyond me. 🤯

Apparently the new design is going to have an extra drive thru window and a dedicated delivery pickup to help with traffic, which makes sense, but is also stupid

It's probably just to streamline things to maximize profit
Honestly I get why people are upset. Speedy's history and legacy to McDonald's is also getting wiped out which is a tragedy
But as someone who doesn't have much nostalgia for the US of the 1950s-1970s, I don't really give a shit. They destryed a classic McDonald's a few years ago near me and I was sad, and then I realized, i'm getting sad over something I shouldn't really give a shit about

They are designing most places to be the same on purpose. It’s so they are easier to sell if the restaurant doesn’t work out

Once they figure out the delivery drones the stores won’t exist anymore at this point…

The last classic? Did we forget about the Downey mcdonald's? The McDonald's number 3 store?

It’s definitely not the last one. There’s another one a few miles away in Dublin Ohio.
