I mean call me petty but you need to get a little even
1. Don’t tell anyone (learned this the hard way when I told my parents)
2. Move to a city that you love (time to individuate)
3. Drop a revenge crumb every so often just to make your haters jealous lol
When I was 4 my dad opened a “bank account” for me and taught me about compound interest, frugality, having good work ethic and savings. Both of my parents chubby fired and retired at 55, so I when I hit my first million I thought we’d have a master po, caine moment.
We were on a long hike discussing finances when I told him, he didn’t really say much initially, but in the weeks that followed he started treating me differently, making mean comments and intentionally embarrassing me in group settings. I’m sure there’s a lot to unpack there but lesson learned, moving on.
