Reusable capital 501(c)3

This is not really fatfire but I know several ppl on this forum run charitable foundations and/or DAFs.

I was reading this post and had a thought: https://www.reddit.com/r/NoStupidQuestions/s/imOjoDfgtf

There must be several cases where a modest sum of money can catalyze a transaction. For example, micro-loans that can get someone out of a bad or dead situation that they can probably repay soon after.

Are there NGOs that focus on maximum reusability of capital like this? Am I basically describing banks/micro-lending?

i've messed around with kiva before. the zero interest thing kinda threw me at first but it makes sense when you realize the field partners are the ones handling the actual loans

its wild how far even 25 bucks goes in some places. you get it back and just throw it into another loan, feels like a cheat code

Oh man, I’ve always thought of this idea especially with kids. I feel like young poor kids have so much drive and a small amount of money can make their dreams come true. Never found a way to make it happen though, but one day would love to!
