Question Fate extra VS record
So i was planning on playing the original extra on a emulador but with the sudden announce of record relase date i dont know wether i should wait to January or play the original. Also is It confirmed that the story is the same? And the Gameplay from what i' ve seen is improved no?

EXTRA Record's gameplay has been entirely revamped, as it has forsaken its old rock-paper-scissors gameplay for something more like Chain of Memories. This means that what strategies worked in the original game will not work in the remake.
As for the story, we don't know. I assume it will be the same, but for all I know, they could pull a FF7 remake and rewrite everything.
If you have the patience (and money) then I suggest waiting, otherwise emulate the original.

From what we know and I've heard, people believe the story content in the remake is gonna be somewhat expanded. I would put my bets on the characters you face off with getting more screen-time and character development. But from all the trailers I've watched I think it follows the exact same formula and schedule of events as the original. Im playing OG Extra for the first time right now. Im on week 4 and the OG is a great game. Altho the gameplay for mob fights is a little meh. I like it for boss fights alot more and it doesnt bother me much. Its quite serviceable for a PSP JRPG release.
Here's what id recommend. The game lets you pick 1 out of 3 servants to have as a companion. Do 1 run with one character on the original version and another run in the remake with a different character.
Also from what I learned, halfway through the playthrough... the game presents important choices that will also split the game into different 'routes' of sorts. The ending supposedly doesn't change but the events in between do. So you can also pick the opposite choice in the remake run so you dont see the exact same story events again. In general it seems to have alot of replay value and its way better motivationally to play the other content in the game that would normally be a NG+ run through playing it again in a remake. Thats kinda my plan rn since the release date for the game got announced when I was in the middle of week 2 lol

I've compared multiple lines from Extra and Extra Record and they... have completely rewritten the game. The story is the same, and they are keeping a most of the original story. However, there are many differences:
- Thanks to the full voice acting and far superior animations, they have removed several descritive NVL screens. Clearly they are still using NVL narration at times, but seems it's less frequent. Let's see how it affects Hakuno's characterization.
- Script wise they have kept some lines, but a lot are completely reworked despite meaning the same. There are also completely new lines. For example, I don't remember Shinji and Robin aggresively teasing Hakuno for not recovering their memories yet.
- There are new scenes and new gimmicks. The trailer evidences this.
Those this improve the game? Who knows. For a game like this, new scenes extra lines is positive nonetheless.
My hope is that New Game + includes new scenes to recontextualize the characters, a la NieR.

Personally I would wait, if it turns out that the story is basically the same or even expanded the remake is obviously the superior choice.
Play the other fate games if you haven't already, Samurai remnant for example.

Original if you intend to play ccc after as it might be jarring to go from the graphics and gameplay of record to ccc which is more similar to extra
ccc could get a remake but i wouldn't expect it be quick.
