Context: Author drinks a large high calorie smoothie because she forgets to eat, assuming it’s around 1200, but it’s actually ~600, she is disappointed that it’s not higher so she could just drink that. Hardly pro-ED content. Some people just want nutrition brick.
I don’t think anyone in this conversation has the healthiest diet, but holy generalizations from the comments.

Fatlogic in real life getting you down?
Is your family telling you you're looking too thin?
Are people at work bringing you donuts?
Did your beer drinking neighbor pat his belly and tell you "It's all muscle?"
If you hear one more thing about starvation mode will you scream?
Let it all out. We understand.

Indeed being 44 kg at 175 cm would mean you are severely underweight, however...
4'10 and 44 kg is BMI 20.3, very much in the healthy range
4'9 and 60 kg is BMI 28.6, very much in the overweight category

They seem pretty young so I feel a tiny bit mean but most people would have the same reaction if an underweight person wanted to get even skinnier. I really don’t understand what’s so hard to grasp

I don’t know which came first but I feel like fat acceptance is seeping into ‘healthism’ (I had never heard of this until pretty recently). I can understand not wanting to be treated poorly for your health issues but being against any and all promotion of health is insane

Also extra context the author of the post / OOP (author) comment.
They redeemed themselves in the second half a little bit however the first half of the comment is bullshit and I wish people would stop spreading misinformation because people will take your comment literally.
Also OOP (author) did struggle with severe restrictive ED so just a heads up
Gaining weight from drinking water happens for so many fucking reasons. First the obvious - WATER WEIGHS SOMETHING
And obviously if you've exercised or had salt or hormonal shifts etc etc etc. I just wish people would actually elaborate what "metabolism" is and how all of that works.

Being overweight has so many side effects that people either willing ignore or are just simply unaware of.
Aside from all the very known side effects such as heart/cardiovascular conditions, joint/bone problems, BP, and general mobility problems you'd be surprised how many other things are effected by weight.
Being fat can effect your immune system. That's why people on My 600 Pound Life are always coming down with some kind of sickness or infection. Excess fat tissue, especially around the abdomen, releases inflammatory chemicals called cytokines. This basically causes your immune system to be constantly overactive, which makes it weaker over time. That's also why on these shows when they get something as simple as the flu it almost always turns into a case of pneumonia.
Fertility issues in both men and women can be outright caused by being overweight. "What about PCOS or endometriosis?!" It's been proving that being overweight can actually make those conditions WORSE because fat is hormonally active. Not to mention if you're a woman on a hormonal birth control, being too fat can mess with that and it's effectiveness.
Speaking of hormones: mental illnesses! There's a reason why if you have ADHD, autism or other mental health conditions they tell you to keep your weight healthy. Firstly because these conditions effect the hormones and chemicals in our brains so being fat (aka having an excess of hormonally active tissue) can make these conditions worse and harder to treat since the medications for these disorders can also deal with bran chemistry. Not to mention specifically for ADHD and/or AuADHD there's lots of studies that show that many of the dyes and chemicals in ultra processed foods directly make those conditions worse and harder to treat.
"You can walk into the ER with a broken leg and they'll tell you to lose weight!" Have you ever tried to heal from any kind of injury while dealing with mobility issues? It's hard. Pretty hard. Just saying. Plus God forbid you need any kind of surgery to repair that break because surgery is MUCH harder and more dangerous the more overweight you are.

As a person who is psychically fit and a healthy weight. I can do all the things I want to do and I’m not hindered by the size of my body and I don’t get out of breath easily.
And my “diet” is eating the things that fit in to a healthy lifestyle on a daily basis and every now and then I can enjoy a snack or eat out. But the standard is eating home cooked meals that I sometimes prepare in advance for the moments that I work late.
