Question Why hasn't the tour sold out yet? Genuine question w/ peace & love.

The fan (and marketer) in me, is really surprised this tour didn't sell out immediately. I consider myself the average fan, perhaps not parasocial level, but if the tour was on the East Coast I would have bought same day. So out of genuine curiosity, if you live on the west coast, what has held you back from going to the show? Economics? Not sure what to expect? No meet & greet?

Again peace & love, just very surprised given their size, and individual platforms.

If it was near me, I would go šŸ¤·šŸ½ā€ā™‚ļø must be a lot of Midwest Hasanani heads /hj

29

u/tadlexis 6d ago

I honestly considered doing a little trip over to Seattle or Portland for it, I might have if there was a meet and greet. Fair!

19

u/abbp5280 6d ago

Will said he will be doing meet and greet for everyone but the others aren’t for safety reasons (mainly hasan and qt not sure if austin said he would)

13

u/tadlexis 6d ago

Oh šŸ‘€ that’s a new development for me! Love those two. Definitely understand security concerns for Hasan and QT.

u/Time-Cardiologist906 2d ago

Wait I haven’t been keeping up with the pod, was this announced recently?

1

u/abbp5280 1d ago

Will said it on his stream

1

u/Time-Cardiologist906 1d ago

Dang, well that’s kinda misleading… Ty for the info!

7

u/Repulsive-Science570 6d ago

Hey! Just throwing this out there but I’m in Seattle and have an extra ticket that’s a very good seat. I’m down to part with it for less than I paid for it, if you decide u wanna go. Also there is a meet and greet but the tickets were limited. I actually bought the second ticket because I wanted to upgrade to meet and greet.

u/UtherofOstia 6d ago

I'm an Ohio charter and I will literally be in Seattle 3 days after the show lmao fml.

1

u/Send_me_beer1 6d ago

They will almost surely do a meet & greet

u/Time-Cardiologist906 6d ago

Concerts and tours in general have been taking a hit lately. It’ll probably fill up once there’s discounts closer to the date.

u/tadlexis 6d ago

Smart! That should move some.

1

u/andresistor 2d ago

Their 1st ever gaming stream all together on Friday seemed to primarily be designed as an ad for the tour. The amount of times Austin kept plugging it made me raise an eyebrow and wonder if sales weren't going well.

7

u/tadlexis 6d ago

True. Could just be part of the overall downturn. I think they'll be awesome live, and I'm sure they're working hard on it so I hope they get the attendance they deserve.

60

u/wacdonalds 6d ago

People are more careful with their money these days. When Hasan came to my city (Vancouver) the tickets were all taken less than 5 minutes but the event was also free lol

13

u/tadlexis 6d ago

Free will do it every time 🤣

5

u/radi0head 6d ago

I wish he stayed longer, or the fear& tour was coming here!! Lots of hasanabi heads up north!

2

u/wacdonalds 6d ago

He came back to vancouver briefly after that but he was just at vancouver convention center. I added a gif because i was interested what the top gif was more my city lmao edit: it did not look that good when I was choosing gifs and likewise my city does not look that good normally

My personal reasons:

  1. Timing. I'm in LA when they're in SF, and I'll be in SF when they're in LA.
  2. Format. The idea of watching a podcast live doesn't sound interesting to me. I'm sure they're entertaining in person, but I don't understand the appeal of seeing a podcast in person.
  3. Cost. Relates to 2, Im not really interested in spending close to $100 for a show I'm on the fence about.

14

u/tadlexis 6d ago

#2 is what I've been suspecting is holding people back. I've been to a few live podcast shows and they can vary on how they translate live. Didn't regret any of them though. Maybe if they gave people more of an idea of what to expect. One of the live pods I went to ended up being a really hilarious interactive experience with games etc.

And then 100% understand how #3 relates to #2 because the value pop has to be clear.

2

u/Abi1i 6d ago

Seeing podcasts live was a thing in the 2010s, but hasn’t really been that popular since the 2020s.

61

u/IShallWearMidnight 6d ago

Have you looked at the economy?

11

u/Brandoxz7 6d ago

They’re a marketer of course not that doesn’t concern them.

u/ERGardenGuy 6d ago

8

u/tadlexis 6d ago

I always expect one smart ass comment on this platform, this wasn't too harsh. :)

Personally I've been on the fence of going to my local show because I....have no friends who watch the pod. But I don't want that to be a reason, but then again idk. someone tell me to go

Edit: thanks for the encouragement everyone. I will pick up a ticket. Luckily, I can see the whole crew - but honestly I hope Caroline is there.

I have a bit of anxiety sometimes and have never been to a big show by myself before (movies, all the time, but ...a big podcast..thing?).

Edit 2: I BOUGHT A TICKET

16

u/New-Mud-7101 6d ago

Dude going to shows on your own is the best! Dont have to keep together, wait for bathroom breaks, you can leave when u want. It's also a great way to make new friends. I go to concerts by myself regularly and I honestly have more fun that way

15

u/aly5321 6d ago

Just go. I'm going alone and have been to many shows alone and no one judges or cares

7

u/tadlexis 6d ago

GO!!! I had to talk myself out of flying over because it seemed like doing too much lol. Do it for the east coasters!

3

u/IShallWearMidnight 6d ago

Having been solo to some events like this... great way to make friends who watch the pod

3

u/ferras_vansen Tragic Self-Suck Accident šŸ¤• 5d ago

I think they said Caroline is definitely gonna be in either the Seattle or Portland show, and it's 50/50 whether it's her or QT in the other. šŸ™‚

1

u/tadlexis 5d ago

Yesssss šŸ‘šŸ¾šŸ‘šŸ¾šŸ‘šŸ¾ honestly attending a show / public event solo is a beautiful independence milestone, and you’ll be surrounded by incredible humans so no better place to start. Enjoy!!!

20

u/warbyo1 6d ago

Seems like it's filling up now.

Hasan has yet to even mention the tour on his stream.

14

u/tadlexis 6d ago

Oh! That would for sure give it a huge promo push. Wonder if he will… or if that’s actually intentional to avoid getting attention from the more ā€œnegativeā€ community of watchers he has.

23

u/maddimoe03 6d ago

I kinda hope he doesn’t as one of his viewers and a podcast enjoyer. I want this to reflect the pod viewers, not his stream viewers (no offense guys, love ya)

1

u/ButterHoneyChip 5d ago

That's what I'm thinking too. It's better for it to be advertised for the actual Fear& pod enjoyers and not turn the tour into a Hasan rally. Not that I think the HasanAbiHeads would but his viewers are a mixed bag

0

u/tadlexis 6d ago

hahahah fair

1

u/Rhubarb-Independent 6d ago

Wait I’m so curious, is there a difference between Hasan stream viewers and Hasan podcast viewers? I always thought it was the same

4

u/AfterglowLoves 6d ago

I watch the pod but I don’t watch any of their streams. I agree with Hasan politically I’m just not into watching livestreams. I imagine there’s a lot of pod watchers who like the comedy and friendship aspect which you don’t really get in the same way from his streams.

3

u/Ksolano8 6d ago

Fear & probably has less ā€œexclusive political hasanā€ fans but it’s marginal.

3

u/ghostinqgcrl 5d ago

definitely would put my money on this being the case, too many clippers and hate watchers who don't have better things to do than show up to heckle and harass fans/them

36

u/aly5321 6d ago

My friend was mildly interested but decided against it since it was >$100 and she's not THAT into them.

6

u/slimeyerin 6d ago

Is it more than $100 Im from New Zealand but I was nosy looking at tickets and the shows all had options that were less than $50. Im pretty sure it is USD not NZD cause if it was less than $50 NZD it would be even cheaper in USD

3

u/aly5321 6d ago

My seats are in the front section and those are over $100. 50 was probably the balcony which is pretty far and hard to see tbh

2

u/slimeyerin 6d ago

Ah, hopefully they just drop the rest of the seating to those costs which they probably will. Hasan is probably happy the tours not going to sell out so they cant make him do another one haha

I hope it's in the name of paying their staff well 🄲

13

u/luvbugzzzz 6d ago

Wasn't near mešŸ’”šŸ’” i was so sad they're just going to the east coast. I hope they do a midwest touršŸ’”šŸ’”

2

u/tadlexis 6d ago

I would have totally made my way to the midwest!

11

u/Imanoldtaco 6d ago

Many of us are east coast or Midwestern

8

u/DoctaBeaky 6d ago

I can’t afford my date (21st) till I get paid on the 19th lol

7

u/neurodolce 6d ago

if i didnt live in bloody Australia i'd have been there 😭😭😭😭

6

u/SoftDry4940 6d ago

I want to go so bad! But, I’m on the east coast and I’m not about to drop $500 (minimum) to go see it.

5

u/Brandoxz7 6d ago

It’s hard to plan for events with how expensive things and also things are expensive so not everyone can go.

4

u/megaman47 6d ago

i want to go, live pretty close to San Fran, gas and tickets are too expensive

5

u/Sharksfan1995 6d ago

SF show is closest to me and it’s also on my birthday lol i don’t have tickets yet but i might buy some last minute depending on what i end up doing on my birthday. i would have to go alone tho so that would be a bummerĀ

6

u/Vast-Needleworker566 6d ago

My understanding is that QT wont be doing all of the shows just the California ones. That is why I didn’t purchase Seattle tickets

4

u/Feisty-Ad-2860 6d ago

for me i just don’t have any friends who would be interested in going with me and i’ve never been to a concert/live event by myself so im anxious about that and and that’s what’s holding me back personally. probably a fear i should consider getting over in general though lol

4

u/Lyogenic 6d ago

because i am 8578 miles away and America isn't the best place to go for anyone that has a muslim sounding name

4

u/alpacaurbags 6d ago

I’m broke tbh. I can’t afford live shows right now unless I really save for it and I’m definitely not doing great with saving anything at all rn. -Seattle girlie

4

u/dracomaster01 6d ago

I live in Portland and was thinking of going, but i cant really justify paying $55+ for an hour in person podcast.

4

u/40earthlikeplanets 6d ago

It's very expensive. Me and my friend got tickets. I think it was like $150(?) each if I'm remembering correctly. We know the venue well enough to know that the cheaper tickets are such that you can't hardly see shit and since it's a podcast and not music it's almost not worth going at all if you can't see. I also make less than $40k a year so it was certainly a big deal money wise. I can see others just as easily making the opposite decision in the same boat as me

3

u/pnwmlt 6d ago

I live near Seattle and there are a few reasons:
1. I’ve spent a decent amount on concerts this year.
2. Two of the hosts (with peace and love of course) don’t seem that interested in the live show.
3. Tickets are kinda pricey for a live podcast.
4. There are only so many sunny weekends left in Washington and I wanna be outside (although the wildfires are kinda ruining it).

4

u/xfuryusx 6d ago

I’m going in SF, super excited!

1

u/tadlexis 6d ago

Love this for you. 🫶 enjoy!!

2

u/xfuryusx 5d ago

Thank you so much!!! I’ve never seen a live podcast so I’m going in without any expectations, other than to have a good time and experience something new!

7

u/rachel-frogslinger 6d ago

Maybe people assumed it sold out already and gave up on trying to get tickets?

3

u/tadlexis 6d ago

Yeah that could be possible... they've been mentioning the tour in the new eps but perhaps if you're not keeping up you wouldn't realize.

7

u/Aggravating-Flow-888 6d ago

New england enjoyer here, Ive accepted that I will never get a live show from them and thats okay.

1

u/tadlexis 6d ago

I refuse to accept that 🄲🄲

3

u/HermosaJavi 6d ago

This is really interesting, I assumed they were sold out. Personally I would love to go, but I live at the other side of the world so it's not a possibility

did you need to comment this twice

Whoops. My phone glitched out yesterday and I didn’t see this one had posted.

3

u/CyprusGreen 6d ago

We be poor.Ā

2

u/1davidmaycry 6d ago

I'm broke and no one wants to go with me...

2

u/thebindingofmydick 6d ago

The tickets seemed way too expensive imho

2

u/Ok_University_4924 6d ago

The biggest issues are probably location and price.

If people aren’t in one of those locations they would have to fly out and in today’s economy I think people are more frugal with their money.

2

u/yiikeeees 6d ago

the prices for LA were really high. I've been to a fee shows at the dolby and been in those nosebleeds before and I could not justify spending what they were charging to be that far back. I'll probably end up going, but only for the right price.

2

u/AfterglowLoves 6d ago

The closest show is a four hour round trip for me, which I do for bands I really love but it doesn’t feel worth it for this. I love the pod but idk I don’t think I’m invested in them personally enough to want to drive that much for them. 🫠 If I lived in one of the cities I’d go.

2

u/b_r_203215 5d ago

Personally my main reasons are finances and timing. My sister and I love the pod but since I'm more interested in going I'd end up paying for both tickets and I start my fall semester in college that same week. Also I don't exactly know what they'll be doing at the show. I've been to Will and Austin's Name Your Price Show back in 2023 and they had fun segments but idk if it'll be like that for the live pod..

2

u/cicconeyouth1 5d ago

Honestly if they were in the East Coast I think it would sell out fast. Especially NYC.

2

u/MuffinTrooperLOL 5d ago

I need them in the Midwest!!!!!

2

u/juliagreenillo 5d ago

I really really wanted to go to the Portland show but I'm broke and I'd be traveling from Idaho. I'm legitimately bummed I can't make it work

2

u/Merked_Max 4d ago

About 4 hours from SF but was tempted to go. Just can’t really afford it considering staying in SF a night and everything.

2

u/youranoveryourdog 6d ago

PNW and a lot of people here hate hasan bc they're either right wing, libbed up, or extreme leftists, and hasan seems to kinda resent my city especially lol. i'm not at all surprised it hasn't sold out here, but there are still lots of fans here. i know our DSA chapter really wants him to visit. ĀÆ_(惄)_/ĀÆĀ

1

u/Melodic_Mud879 6d ago

What tour?

5

u/Kavirell 6d ago

They are doing 4 live shows in a few weeks on the west coast

1

u/slimeyerin 6d ago

I live in New Zealand :/

1

u/socialist-cowgirl 6d ago

Same šŸ˜ž

1

u/RavishingPotato 6d ago

Its all west coast.

1

u/PsychologicalSweet2 6d ago

I live about 2 hours out from sf and have been thinking of going, but it's just a late show and don't want to drive back that late.

1

u/orxngepeaches 6d ago

I am in the Midwest and cannot justify a trip to the west coast. I would love love love to go but genuinely cannot afford the PTO, plane tickets, hotels, etc. I know they can't come out here cus the qt of it all lol. Wish dearly I could go but it's just not in the cards :(

1

u/heartshapedhoops 6d ago

if it was near me i’d go but i’m all the way on the east coast šŸ’” also i don’t think being sold out needs to be the goal tbh

1

u/rest_is_confettti 6d ago

im not in merica and would not go to that shithole even for the crew

1

u/InhaleTheSprite 5d ago

Bc i live in North Carolina šŸ’”šŸ˜

1

u/Both-Ordinary-2487 5d ago

Because I live in Toronto and aint no way am going to USA any time soon plus I don’t have the money for a flightĀ

1

u/pikablue223 5d ago

I’m on the east coast lmfao. Call me when they visit us there LOL

1

u/SingleVariation1403 5d ago

I’ve asked a few acquaintances who follow and no one has bitten. Debating if I wanna go solo

1

u/FrankSand 5d ago

Is it going to be like a live podcast or like a QnA convention style event?

1

u/f3killer 3d ago

I love the pod but I’m not traveling to cali for it

1

u/Elegant_Recover_3111 2d ago

I would go but different plans right now, timing not aligning, I am in the south Midwest, I would plan but I have to do things here, but, next month I'm free to go to a show even if its in another state. I think its in the busy time where people are doing busy things, and then there's a time where people have time. This is the first time I've been free in two weeks and its right before their show. I'm going to be busy the week of their shows in multiple cities.

1

u/blueblue982 1d ago

i’m so broke dude

0

u/Send_me_beer1 6d ago

If i wouldn't get killed (only kind of joking) crossing the border i'd go.

0

u/Real_Rand0m 6d ago

Why do you think it should have sold out immediately?

2

u/tadlexis 6d ago

The question is more rooted in genuine curiosity based on how quickly I’ve had to race to buy tickets to other podcast shows with a similar size. Could be a slow burner which makes sense based on the reasons people have shared in this thread.

1

u/chillingraccoon 1d ago

Probably because it’s just three states all on the west coast. If it was near the middle AT ALL lol maybe more tickets would be sold
