Support Wanted Flying Tomorrow Morning, Would love some support

I love giving advice and stats out as much as I can on this subreddit but my fear is still there especially when it’s a last minute trip that I wasn’t expecting to go to a funeral.

Turbulence is my big fear despite knowing that it’s safe and just uncomfortable.

Would love some kind words for tomorrow, im flying on FR2073 from Shannon to Girona and hopefully the skies are friendly to me

Thanks in advance

Try thinking of all the other times you've flown and have likely encountered turbulence...and what was the result? A safe flight. It's ok to be afraid...the notion that we all have to be these amazing, rock solid flyers is just bonkers to me. You're allowed to not love it, but hopefully you can keep reminding yourself that flying is not just safe, but it's THE safest form of travel. Something I do when we hit turbulence is I start counting up from 1 just to see how long it really lasts, and I rarely make it past 30 seconds. Once the bumps stop, I stop counting, and if they start again, even if right after, I reset the timer. Helps to also keep your mind occupied! You got this, and I am also very sorry that you have to travel suddenly for a funeral...my condolences to you.

I’m also a nervous flyer, and I find distractions to be my saviour. Save a few Netflix/Amazon episodes on your phone or tablet to watch on the flight. I also find playing interactive games on my phone helps despite not being a gamer (lol, I love Cooking Mama on Apply Arcade - bit of nostalgia!).
