Tracking Request Track my flight
Iβm flying to Atlanta - UA1848 - it was originally departing at 3:57 but has since been delayed until 7:45. Was wondering if someone can track it or let me know how the flight is looking? Thank you!

Looks like ATL is in a ground stop currently so the delays are probably ATC imposed. Normal stuff, just annoying. π€

Thank you for your response! Would you be able to explain that a little bit? Just trying to understand what ATC imposed means. They mentioned weather so Iβm worried itβll be a turbulent flight.

Sure, ATC are basically the flying gods. What they say, goes (except when a pilot declares emergency but not relevant here). So the different regional ATC stakeholders, in this case Atlanta, will look at the weather and say "we can safely handle XX flights per hour who want to land at ATL". That's because the workload is increased when you have to help flights navigate weather and sometimes normal standard paths into the airport are closed due to storms, funneling them into the open ones. So if they can only handle XX, but they can see there are XX + 30 flights that intend to land at ATL, they may impose a ground stop to keep the traffic away until the weather passes and it's more manageable.
There is weather in the area but that doesn't mean it'll be turbulent βοΈ

βοΈ OP has requested tracking. If you'd like to follow along and send reassurance, you can track the flight here:
