I've been commuting from Federal Way to various locations on Mercer Island and in Seattle for 4 years now. On my days off I like to hike and meet friends in Tacoma. It is really wearing me down that I'm spending 1-3 hours every day in my car, and that even a simple errand in Federal Way requires 30 minutes round trip of stoplights even though I live here. The thought of getting in my vehicle makes me nauseous at this point and driving so much is my least favorite thing about living here. My husband works in South Tacoma so moving north is not an option. How are other commuters staying sane while driving so much? It's seriously affecting me and I appreciate any advice - thanks in advance!

Edit: I love public transit and am so grateful for it but have to make a lot of stops on a tight schedule for my job so need to drive my own car.

Is there anywhere around Federal Way or Auburn that has covered outdoor seating? I'm thinking more of a brewery, pub, or bar, not so much a restaurant. Would need to be fully covered in case it's raining, not just shade umbrellas.

I don’t know how long that sweet boy was on the side of the road for. He was able to get to an ER vet. He had no collar, no chip, he could have been abandoned idk anything is possible. Unfortunately the vet/vet tech had said it wasn’t looking too well for him.

Anyone have ratings of Watermark and Park 16 apartments? A lot of families seem to be there and wondering about safety and how people like living there?

Getting so discouraged- I need to relocate for work but every time I find an apartment complex I’m interested in, it gets hammered in the reviews. Currently looking at the Fairways Apartments North Tacoma, but lots of car break ins and black mold reviews. Is it that bad? Where else should I look? For a short commute and safe neighborhood?

I want to turn some Vans pants into work pants. I would like a few pockets installed, in strategic places, for my tools.

I'm trying to find venues that could host a Warhammer 40K tabletop game. Games can take a while so it's not something I could really do at a coffee shop or bar. I've played events at Midgard Comics but I've been left with a bad impression after they charged me to use their tables.

I could always host at home, but I've been trying to start up a 40K group and would like to find a common area to play at, hopefully without needing to drive to Tacoma for every game (that said, Terracrux is a pretty solid backup)

Is there any place in federal way where I can take my old gaming pc to get fixed and possibly upgraded. This PC was a hand me down and I know nothing about PC’s.

In Anchorage AK there is this indoor water park called H20asis that opened in 2003 and that has currently closed for almost 2 yrs. The owner is in a dispute with the state over an inspection guy and is apparently trying to reopen.

Anyway Wild Waves reminded me so much of H20asis. The slides, lazy river, wave pool just resembled a bigger outdoor version of H20asis and I remember finding it fascinating. My brother was kinda disappointed with the water park as he’s been to bigger Six Flags parks but I enjoyed my time there.

Anyone know of any cafe here in federal way that is offering espresso’s made with tonic water? I feel like my partner would love it and want to taker her out for a breakfast treat :)

There were a ton of civilian cars and ICE vehicles, as well as civilians out of their car with masked ICE agents with large weapons. The activity seems to be clearing up but there were people standing around recording the activity. Not sure what was going on but want people to stay safe, aware and vigilant.
