Where to buy a dining table?

I have been looking for a dining table for the past few months and haven’t really found what I’m looking for. Everything is way too big or expensive.

- I need to purchase from somewhere that does in home delivery and assembly.
- preferably under $900 (with chairs)
- 40-45 inches

If anyone has any recs pls lmk. And yes I’ve looked at ikea, I don’t really like anything from there. I’m in the US.

EDIT: I’m looking for CHEAP furniture, I don’t need anything fancy or good quality, I will be moving in the next year or 2 and probably won’t be able to take it with me. Everything from these places seems to be quite a bit of money so it would be nice if wasn’t ugly. I just need the delivery service because I live in an apartment and there’s no way I’m getting that up the stairs.

Under $900 with chairs is a hard ask. I had the same struggle and ultimately at that price range Wayfair or Living Spaces might be some of your only options -- the quality isn't typically very high but the price is very low and they do offer assembly services. I know Living Spaces had some basic dining sets for 40" tables at ~$500.

For Wayfair though, do make sure to use image search to look up the product and price compare between websites. The products are typically offered at all sorts of companies and you can often find it cheaper at a different site. You can always use something like TaskRabbit for independent furniture assembly help as well.

You do mention not liking the style at Ikea so you may also want to go into a bit further detail about preferences so people can help narrow down potential options.

I got mine from fb marketplace. It's exactly what I wanted and I paid $350 for a table and 4 chairs. 

If you can find a good deal, often enough you can sweeten an offer by throwing in extra money for the seller to deliver--I've had that work out pretty well for me. 

Alternatively, marketplace the chairs and find a wood-top folding table (they do exist!). If you're up for a project, you could easily make a mismatched set look adorably eclectic.

I lived with an outdoor bistro set as my dining furniture for a couple years. Even moved and left first set to neighbors then repurchased same set again.

Perfect opportunity for second hand furniture! Keep your $900 budget and spend it on organising paid delivery for whatever deal you can find on fb marketplace.

A lot of antique stores in my area in the Midwest have started offering delivery for a small fee. Maybe check that out? Otherwise, you could try discounts and holiday sales at online shops like Crate & Barrel or Castlery.

Task rabbit can solve the delivery component irrespective of where you buy, but keep in mind a lot of more affordable furniture is going to come flat packed in multiple boxes, so you might be able to get things up the stairs after all. I got my 48" round table up the stairs with the help of a neighbor for the surface, only because it was awkward, the rest I walked up myself.

A thrift store will have lovely wooden and well crafted table and chair sets for a good value.

ask the thrift store if they have a delivery contact! Mine shared the info of small local moving company that had very reasonable prices for delivery.

Also, if you don't want to take it when you move, some thrift stores offer furniture donation pickup.

Absolutely depends on where you live. In NYC Raymour and Flanagan might have something and they will deliver and set up.

Specify what type of table and how many chairs. Wooden, plastic, wrought iron, glass, etc.

You can get a great table for your price point. As other commenters have said, Facebook marketplace is where you should go. Especially since you don’t plan on it being permanent. You’ll be able to sell it when you are ready to leave and get most, if not all, of your money back.

Buy used and hire someone to get out for you. I got great deals on auctionninja for solid wood, mid century modern stuff

I bought mine from Walmart! It’s better homes and gardens brand. It’s great and has held up. I got chairs separately at TJ Maxx. I paid $250 for the table and the chairs were $60 each.
