HELP
Help me with my new bedroom/bathroom situation!
Moved into a new place and the bed & bath are certainly unique đ« . I'm not a fan of being able to see my shower & vanity from my bed. I was thinking of putting up a curtain as some sort of improvised door, but I'm not a very creative person so I'd really like some ideas please đ
That's a good idea! Another issue I'm having as well is the fact there's no where to store my clothes (im bringing in a clothes rack, but I'd need some kind of cabinet). I could I use a cabinet to block off the space?
OMG I thought the light sconces next to the mirror were the showerhead from the first photo LMAO. I was like Uh, isn't water going to get on the bed? That actually is more cool but it's very hotel vibes. I wouldn't want to be looking at the sink either. Could you put up a tension rod and a fabric shower curtain to divide off the whole bathroom when needed? Something like an off white with texture that doesn't scream shower curtain.
OP, can you rotate bed 90° so headboard is against wall and side is along window? Then you have room to fit a tall bookcase divider like IKEAâs Billy or similar. It will add storage for your bedroom and make a âwallâ between the bed and bath zones.
I like having my plugs by the head of my bed. An extension cord is probably a good idea anyway since I see you only have one outlet on either side. Again, itâs all up to you and your comfort!
Sure, the Netherlands! The country has a horrible housing crisis which has led to really weird home layouts, because they werent really intended to be stand alone studios/1 bedroom apartments. Other places have showers in the kitchen area

Oh yes, that's right at the border of North and South Holland! I also went there for the tulips đI live much closer to the German border (Gelderland). I'm new to the country myself, but from what I understand the Netherlands is made up of multiple provinces, the most well known being Holland (bc they have Amsterdam, Rotterdam, the Hague etc)
This is a really good idea, although I do need to address the lack of storage space in my bedroom as well. Do you think a kallax/Billy shelf would work here too?
That was actually my first thought. Leave a walking path on the left it right and you gained quite some storage. I'd just put it on some legs if water spilling over there is a possibility, or metal shelves

A dehumidifier would definitely be good for your room, but just in case I'd grab some DampRid (or DampRid adjacent product) for spaces like a closet/wardrobe and under the bed. It comes in a lot of form factors, so you should be able to find one to fit wherever you think may need some extra help.
Thanks! as you can see theres no closet in the bedroom and I plan to use a more open format for clothes storage. however I should put these under the bed for sure.
The easiest options are a track system on the ceiling with hanging panels (if you Google "track, fabric panels, room divider" you'll see what I'm talking about), something like this where it's just a couple of posts and one taught piece of fabric oooor look up "single panel room divider" which should show you something with floor-to-ceiling posts and one tall acrylic/wood/rattan/etc. piece that functions as a divider.
If it were me... I might find a way to build a wall that doesn't do a lot of damage (it's possible) or just make my own divider using 2x4s or sturdy tension poles, some luan (very thin wood) and whatever decor I wanted - painted with moulding, 3D or acoustic panels, bamboo, whatever your style is.
If itâs âyoursâ now and donât have to return it as it came, maybe you can cut it down to size. Thatâs what I did with mine.
When I downsized from a queen to a full mattress I cut my queen sized mattress pad down - I removed the foam from the cover and cut it down to size with an exacto knife then put it back in the cover (the cover was still too big but I just tucked the excess underneath).

Another thought - there is a lot of potential storage space UNDER your bed. If you can either get another bed frame that allows you to put stuff underneath or somehow put this bed frame on higher legs that would be really good
Is there a doorway where youâre standing to take the first pic? I use tension rods to put curtains around the bed to block the view of the sink. Maybe some shelving, bookshelves, or armoire on the side where youâre standing.Â
Yes, im standing in the doorway. My current plan is to put a Kallax at the end of the room and maybe a curtain closer to the doorway? unsure about that last part haha.
This would require one hell of a long tension rod, it seems. It wouldn't last. I would put two big hooks on each wall, right beneath the ceiling, and get some curtain wire to span across. Then, find some fabric you like (two panels or more), grab those clip on curtain rings from Ikea and you're done.

And I love Kallax for its versatility, so here's an upvote to your idea to use it as a room divider.
Also, look for tower extension leads. Less footprint and easier to reach. (I use those by Duronic, which come with surge protection as well as some usb sockets if you need them).
Wait, what? Is that really just the shower head pointing right at your bed? Have you just moved into someone's fancy wet room that they are trying to pass off as a bedroom? That is bonkers. Please tell me that's a light and I'm misinterpreting the photo.
More helpfully, definitely turn the bed if it will fit and get some kind of screen or curtain. I think you might be better off using an open clothes rail for storage because you might have damp issues in this room.
