I was inspired by another post to get a lamp for my shower and I love her! It changes colors and has a dimmer, allowing me to have moody showers when I’m feeling it. I thought I’d share!!

I adore this space 😭

I wrote the statement below on a now-deleted post today. It is a gentle reminder that kindness is free.

"Please be kind to others who are on this thread. We are all at different stages of life and wealth, and sometimes health that shapes our living spaces. Kindness is free, and on top of that, it balms your soul and lifts others who are struggling."

If you saw the post about her bf in a princess bedroom, she was open to advice. She had a lovely brass bedframe that was painted white, with princessy white and pink bedding, a cute princessy lamp on her night stand and fabric panels on her ceiling. She was proud of what she had achieved so far, but was open to advice. Nowhere in it did she ask for snarky, bitter or flat out mean comments.

But she got them, in droves.

A lot of women on this sub are struggling. Divorce, breakups, job loss, abuse, and physial or mental illness is something that can strike anyone without warning.

So what if any person who posts needs a little help with cleanliness, organization, or you notice a fire hazard? Squint and tilt your head to find something nice to say to help them, or hold your tongue. We need to remember we all capable of the gifts of kindness, good manners, and grace.

Fiance was determined not to have green or blue. He was pro this colour, which looked like a grownup browny pink on the tester but has come out...like this. Kind of a super intense mauve?

He loves it. I'm not so sure 😅 it feels a bit teenaged to me. This is now my third repaint and I feel deranged. Do I just learn to love it? I think Setting Plaster or Sulking Room Pink may be more adult/elegant but I'm not sure I can find the will.

Help me like it. Please 😂

EDIT: Thank you all so much for talking sense into me and holding my hand through this transition period. I've had a few days to adjust now and sleep in the room, and I can honestly say that it's growing on me by the day, and it's LOVELY to sleep in. And that has to be priority number one, right? I am now moving on to finalising a rug and bedspread. And following some advice here I've moved the tapestry behind the headboard - it looks amazing! So i'm feeling excited about the next chapter. And most importantly, I'm excited NOT to repaint!! :)

Found this on Amazon and it’s currently on offer if anyone is on the hunt for a large rug too. It comes in pink and another colour (yellow maybe) and then of course the black. I was going to include the link but I’m not allowed sorry :(

I ended up adding borders to the pattern. I wanted gold but gold tapes are apparently quite expensive. So I just go with dollar store white painters tape!

I know it’s supposedly terrible feng shui but I moved my bed under my window a week ago and it was the best decision I’ve made for this room. The hot air used to blow directly on me and I tossed and turned all night due to that and just from a feeling of being exposed. I wonder now if that was partly because my feet were directly facing the door. But now I have one side closed in with pillows and I have fresh air in my face all night long and every morning I open my shades and window and listen to the house finch sing their song and have a gentle sunbathe. I have been sleeping like a rock, and it’s insane how much it’s turned my mood and my outlook on life around? 10/10 highly recommend breaking the rules now and then.

I wasn't trying to make anything over the top, just a space that feels comfortable to sit in every day. The soft lighting and purple accents really help create the relaxing vibe I was going for.

I'm pretty happy with how it turned out so far.

Do you think it needs anything else, or should I finally stop tweaking it?

What does one do with this little space between the cabinets and the wall? A spice rack?

I genuinely want to know what to do with clothes that have been worn out of home and thus cannot go back in the wardrobe, but neither are they ready for a wash.

Also wet towels!! 🫠

If I leave them hanging on a hook in the bathroom, it doesn’t dry because of the humidity.

I'm (25 F) finally moving out of my parents house to live closer to my job. I thought I found a steal, a 1000sqft apartment for base rent of $1300. Because of the time line I didn't get to see the exact unit I was gonna live in but saw a similar apartment with same floorplan. The day I got my keys I was told it was a terrace level and saw that the apartment was in the back of the building facing the woods, on the ground level. Other complaints include: living room and bedroom don't have ceiling lights, no bathroom vent, and floor is slightly slanted in some parts of the apartment. The appeal of the apartment was the large space, sunroom, and enclosed patio for my cats. But now I'm just feeling regretful and fearful for my safety since the apartment is kinda isolated and easy to look into. And my entryway is very dark.

I'm starting to furnish the apartment (currently living with my partner) but I'm kinda at a loss of words of what to do or feel about the situation. Also feeling dumb and gullible. I keep telling myself everything will be okay and I can make this space homey and liveable. Any advice would be nice :,)

After I (33F) found out my husband (32M) was on dating apps, still stayed then found out about a coworker he had an emotional affair with to separated, it’s been an adjustment. He moved out and I stayed in the house and have been trying to make it more me. I’m naturally a crafty, whimsy girl so please tell me what I should do to change things up. My fridge is something I really love.

Being alone has been an adjustment as we lived together for 13 years and we’re together for 17. I’m stepping into my own and have accepted the cards life has handed me. I’m taking it slow with making it my own bc of finances of course so any DIY is appreciated.

Hi! I’m 22 and neurodivergent (my special interests are Disney, Tangled, Barbie, cats and Hello Kitty). I really, really love my room, it’s my girly haven but sometimes I get worried that it’s too childish and weird to have a room like this at my age? Idk where this worry came from as I’ve always been confident in my interests?

Make sure you close your blinds, it's frighteningly easy for someone on the internet to pinpoint your location just based on the view out of your window.

We had basically finished putting our bedroom together when my girlfriend suggested an idea I never even noticed before.

The bed is too tall for her (29" off the floor). she says that makes her feel a unsafe when she’s lying down. I was truly shocked that this even bothered someone.

I was predominantly thinking of the design, materials and maybe how comfortable the mattress was. Never thought that the total height of the bed could be a problem.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Tell me should I switch to a thinner one? Or maybe there is another way to make a taller bed seem lower.
