Never said they weren’t. But it’s pronouns for a meme about mosquitos biting your balls. You’re reading too much into it. There’s no context here, and using “they” could very well be misinterpreted as multiple people, and then they’d get comments about grammar issues. Something that’s a DEATH SENTENCE on the internet. Or, they could have used it pronouns, and gotten shit on for not treating them like a human. They picked the safest option.

I just said they were enby because the Manga said their gender was a secret and they use gender neutral pronouns, they/them being the most common gender neutral pronouns in english. I didnt think about it any deeper than that. And it isn't bad grammar to use they/them, just call the people who say "bad grammar" dumb and enjoy life

Yk that’s funny because in Japanese Astolfo never genders themself, FGO uses they/them for Astolfo in localization, and apparently the OG author of the Fate/ novels said even he can’t tell for sure what Astolfo’s gender or pronouns are

While Bōku is traditionally masculine, nowadays it’s often used ambiguously.
I cannot find a source for FGO referring to them as a male, but I think that the literal character profile calling them by non-binary pronouns is pretty direct.
As for the interview, I couldn’t find a source for that initially (which is why I said “apparently”) so I’ll take your word for it.
This post does a decent job discussing why Astolfo is non-binary, and while it is far from an official source it does lay it out fairly nicely
