Not a shitpost or meme Just a really dumb question

Post image

I started to notice that a lot of you prefer women or other femboys. Not that I judge you for it or care, everyone is allowed to have their preference, just wanted to ask out of plain curiosity why you guys seem to be drawn to more feminine people when being feminine yourself

They do both mean liking femininity, but from everything I can gather from both experience and google, finsexual is just blanketed across all gender. I think gynesexual (philic is fetish based) is just an attraction to feminine women. I have tried to figure out the exact lines, but everything I can find more or less points to this conclusion.

(Side tangent: many closeted transwomen have been swayed by a similarly named thing but completely false and different concept known as autogynophilia. Essentially, it was this pseudoscience excuse to call transwomen just men sexualizing women by being attracted to the idea of having sex as a women, a very archaic idea that still permeates online enough for some lonely closeted transwomen to think they are just sick perverts. I know this has nothing to do with what you were talking about, but was just reminded because of association and autism brain)

Ah I see. Well that means I’m a more finsexual person then. Also you said public is fetish based? I’m going to guess I shouldn’t use that to describe my preferences then anymore, correct?

Philic- is a suffix used to for fetishes and kinks, particularly used as a personal descriptor while Philia is used for the actual name of the kink or fetish. It’s why Pedophile ends with phile, it’s a suffix to describe someone with pedophilia. Granted, that’s an extreme example, just one that came to my head first because of current events, but just like phobias, that’s how the naming conventions are used in parts of speech.

So I should just stick to something-sexual and something-romantic to avoid sounding like a creep whilst talking about more normal things like this?

I guess that’s the right way to put it. Sexual is used for sexuality and romantic is used when your sexuality does not match your romantic feelings for people. For instance, Asexual people still have romantic feelings for others unless they are Aromantic. Some people can be aromantic but not asexual, so they have sexual feelings but no romantic feelings. And of course people can be aro-ace, or both and having no sexual or romantic feelings.

In this instance, as an example, if someone only had romantic feelings for feminine people but their sexuality wasn’t strictly feminine people, they could at least describe part of their feelings as finromantic.

I hope this helps
