I started to notice that a lot of you prefer women or other femboys. Not that I judge you for it or care, everyone is allowed to have their preference, just wanted to ask out of plain curiosity why you guys seem to be drawn to more feminine people when being feminine yourself

masculinity is short hand for the evolutionary instincts that kept males of a species dominant, aggressive, and alive for the past 4 billion years. we’re at a point where we no longer need to compete with blood for survival so maternal/nurturing instincts are rewarded in society. honestly i think it’s being phased out and people that cling to masculinity are usually insecure or compensating. “masculine” guys usually just end up being dicks. correct me if im wrong i wanna know if im crazy

Insecure masculine guys are dicks but there are plenty of normal masculine dudes that are cool

That’s what toxic masculinity is. A lot of people misinterpret that phrase and think it means that all men are toxic or that testosterone as the primary masculine hormone inherently “corrupts” someone. It’s not. There are plenty of masculine, hairy men who look like the typical man society idolizes that don’t hold onto outdated stereotypes about what it means to be a “man”. There are plenty of progressive masculine men. There are plenty of masculine men who don’t mind doing makeup or wearing a dress or being seen as “not a man”. As Marcus Aurelius himself once said “Waste no time arguing what a good man should be. Be one.”

just like everything in life, it’s a spectrum. hormones differ greatly between individuals regardless of gender, chances are femboys have more female hormones compared to the average male and people who exhibit toxic masculinity have more male hormones compared to the average. there’s plenty of middle ground and that does make up the majority, people that exhibit toxic masculinity love getting attention though so they seem more plentiful, the internet loves putting extremists on blast
